On top of all that, he’s not game smart, e.g. don’t know when to stay inbounds and when to get out.
Franklin ruined Sanders.

seventh round pick? what seventh pick? With the Eagles 7th pick I would seriously consider Pickett and look to move Hurts. I know it’s a risky move but keeping Hurts is not the answer either.
There’s a lot of reasons for thatMight as well. They don't use him.
You’re right, I read old info on the Eagles. It looks like the Eagles will have the 15, 16 and 19 first round picks. I doubt Pickett will be there at 15, not even close. The Rumor Mill has the Giants very interested in replacing Daniel Jones with Pickett with their 7th pick. If I were the Eagles I would give up the 15 & 16 pick and move up to 7, but that’s me.seventh round pick? what seventh pick?
If the 49ers want to release jimmy g I am a buyerThe Eagles’ philosophy is clear. You build a consistent winner via the OL and a QB. They only have one of those pieces currently.
The off-season will be interesting. The rumors are bound to be spicy with potential veteran QBs available.
What would you give up for Russell Wilson ?You’re right, I read old info on the Eagles. It looks like the Eagles will have the 15, 16 and 19 first round picks. NothingWhat would you give up for Russell Wilson ?
Not sure Whart. Once a great QB. I actually remember him at NC State. But seriously, he’s got serious miles on those legs and unless I’m mistaken he’s nicked up. What does he have, 2 maybe 3 more years? My answer is not too much. What would you give up for Russell Wilson ?
Maybe. I still don’t think Jimmy G is a long time, high end starter. He’s played on a couple of good teams and been about replacement average. If the 49ers want to release jimmy g I am a buyer
A first and a third, tops. Wilson is declining and will cost a ton of money. What would you give up for Russell Wilson ?
One costly mistake cost him a super bowl. Jimmy Garoppolo is a clutch QB with b%^^s who refuses to wilt under pressure. I would love to him in an Eagles Jersey.Maybe. I’m buying on a 2-3 year deal and continuing to look for a young prospect.
Big mistakes follow the guy. Just look at today’s game. He’s a good player, but not someone you build a franchise around. One costly mistake cost him a super bowl. Jimmy Garoppolo is a clutch QB with b%^^s who refuses to wilt under pressure. I would love to him in an Eagles Jersey.
Like Hurts is?? I’d rather take my chancesBig mistakes follow the guy. Just look at today’s game. He’s a good player, but not someone you build a franchise around.
Hurts costs A LOT less than Jimmy G. Like a $23 million a year difference.Like Hurts is?? I’d rather take my chances
But I'm sure people will continue to bring up snowballs and Santa and ignore this.
The Orlovsky video breakdown in the article was just so spot on for Hurts. He does some nice things that make him a tantalizing young prospect, but he misses on so many of the basic reads and decisions out there.ouch
Yeah, Hurts has the intangibles that you love at that position. But, the others things noted in the article are missing. I don't see a big long term upgrade coming in next year though. Wilson is not the answer in short or long term. The Orlovsky video breakdown in the article was just so spot on for Hurts. There are good reasons to run him out again in 2022. They have so many holes to fill - they could make first 5 picks on D in the draft and still have needs on that side - and are really another couple years away from being a serious contender.
Maybe he makes a big jump next year. But the honeymoon is over and I think the Eagles have to bring in a viable alternative in the off-season.
Yes, both of those things are true and it is also why there so incredibly few who can do it well over a sustained period of time. It is not like a mid-manager who can do the last 20 years of their job sleep walking. To be a championship level QB in the NFL requires constant improvement every single day on the job or you are nothing but a flash in the pan. It takes an exceptionally rare combination of skills that I don't think Hurts has. I love the kid and because of that root for him to no end, but I don't realistically think he will ever be one of those rare ones.Yeah, Hurts has the intangibles that you love at that position. Not sure where I read this about Reagor, but basically that it is bad enough that he doesn't do anything to help you win, he actually does things to help you lose. If the kid is going to stick around in the NFL, it will need to be on a different team.Won't happen, but would somehow love to see Dotson replace Reagor next year.
Howie is hoping Reagor does what Agholor did and put together a productive year or two and make Howie’s pick look better. Not sure where I read this about Reagor, but basically that it is bad enough that he doesn't do anything to help you win, he actually does things to help you lose. I disagree as well -- just get the best players you can get, as the needs are many, and there isn't much in the draft at QB (at least as best as I can project them in the NFL).
I'm not sure that Eliot is advocating using a pick on QB -- just pointing out that after today's game, Howie and Lurie may well be thinking about looking in that direction.
That was ugly. At halftime one of the talking heads said, “What in the Carson Wentz was he doing there?” Made me laugh. And for all of those critical of Hurts' play on Sunday, I hope they watched Kyler Murray last night.
