No doubt. I think that’s what @WestSideLion is referring to. The whole thing seems out of sync for some reason. Thank God they went back to the pistol , their best formation imo and ran the ball. Tougher to blitz when you balance up and can attack either sideThe Eagles should have won this game by 3 TDs! The Giants scored from inside the 20 on a fumbled kick (Eagles ran into each other), and scored on an INT when Goeddert fell down (would have easily caught that pass) inside the 20. The Eagles dominated this game, but, the announcers would have had you believe otherwise. Sickening.
The common theme is some kind of excusable (in isolation) mistakes each game that leads one to think they woulda, shoulda won in a blowout. But each game it’s something like this and that’s a clear mental trend with this team. Play out the year and revamp and try to run back some better system in 2024. They have the talent. No doubt. I had thoughts of him becoming a birdA closer game than I expected. I thought the non-call on obvious Pass Interference on the next to last play was interesting.
I’m hoping Saquon emphasizes a team with a good OL when he goes team shopping as a free agent

The change is defense statistics from last year is stark. I’m seeing too many mental mistakes, as you’ve mentioned. Kelce got called for another false start, good grief. The Eagles were plastered the previous two games. I think both Dallas and SF have shown themselves to be better teams than Philadelphia.McMullen mentioned that on the post-game show. While yes the box score looked close, if you look at the game in totality, the eagles dominated 55 minutes of that game. One could argue, Blankenship getting burned was the most egregious issue. Goedert slipping is a football gods deal. Same with the kickoff return fumble (no way OZ could know Boston was coming behind him. he just got blown up by a LBer on the block). now, that's not to say there weren't little cumulative issues (penalties, Hurts not stepping out) but by and large the Eagles dominated that game.
All that to say, I just think this season as a whole has been a cacophony of the ball bouncing the wrong way whereas last season it bounced the right way. It happens. Of course they're not helping themselves, but they've lost momentum and confidence.

I would caveat that by saying Dallas has shown itself the better team at home. On the road is a very different story and they very well may have to travel to Philly. The change is defense statistics from last year is stark. In the 6+ years I've been doing my own NFL power ratings, I've never had the best team 3.5 points better than the next team. Until SF in 2023. And I'm not changing that much after their loss yesterday.
Here's the whole thing. For the spread, just subtract the two teams power rating and add HFA to home team. The injuries are already factored in to the Adj PR (except Hou as I think Stroud comes back). I tweaked SF and Balt, although I'm not totally sure I should have based on the stats in that game (favored SF).Share your top 10 today?![]()
Lots of football left to play before then. The Niners looked like crap during their three game losing streak, then looked pretty damn good, and then stunk out the joint yesterday against the Ravens. They had a ciouple of fluke interceptions, so the Ravens caught a few breaks, but the Ravens capitalized on them. It's impossible to predict how this will all end up.Awesome. An old biz friend who lives in the Bay Area and is a 49ers season ticket holder called today and said Purdy had a stinger that he has been dealing with and had another episode of it acting up again in this game after a hard tackle. That can be quite serious if they don’t allow him enough down time. It would not shock my friend if he sits out in their next game. FWIWbirds will be at home
