He’s a smart man, but his big weakness is over confidence. You play conservatively as a big home field favorite. Doing that would have given them a pretty easy win yesterday. Oh well…there are no style points in the nfl.
I liked him going for 2 especially from the 1. You can get 2 pts and all you have to do is travel 1 yd? that to me is a no brainer, I'd do it every time. (except of course if kicking it wins the game)

I don’t have much of an issue with going for 2 from the 1 (assuming it fits the game situation). Going for it on 4th and 3 from the Jax 22 was more of an issue IMO. It was 10-0 at that point. You kick the FG for 13-0. Those 3 points would have significantly decreased the anxiety in the 4th quarter. ;)

Siriani (and CJF) drive me nuts mostly because I grew up learning football from a certain college football coach who ALWAYS took the points and NEVER took them off the board. I know it's a different game now but nearly every single 4th and 2 or more I'm screaming "kick the ball". I don't care if it's a FG or punt, just kick it and work on getting your O back on the field.

I can see going for 2 if you're behind and need the points, or if it's late in the game and getting 2 forces the other team to get an extra point or puts you up by 3 or something like that. Otherwise, if you're ahead and it's other than the 4th quarter, the better option to me is to take the "sure" points and not leave them on the field. The objective is, after all, to win by scoring more points than the other team. Sure, 2 is greater than 1, but if the chances of getting the 2 vs the 1 are much less, why not take the (virtually) sure thing?

If getting one yard was that easy...well, Penn State would've beaten OSU by one point this past weekend. They did, after all, have 4 chances to put it in from the 3 yard line - should be able to get those 3 yards in three downs, right? ;) And then punch in the 2 point conversion.

Look at this. Me and sluggo on the same page. Go for it with 1 yard.
I also think he should have kicked the fg in the 2nd quarter. The espn analytics showed fg as a very slight favorite. Early enough in the game to go fg.

The tough part here is that the Eagles were big home favorites vs a bad team. I think you take the easy points most of the time.

I didn’t mind going for 2 after the penalty. But missing that compounded the other iffy decisions (and vice versa).

Extra points aren't a given. Missed extra point cost Seattle the game yesterday (and me money! ).
