As you noted, this kind of stuff does happen every Sunday, in every stadium (not just the Linc), when you wear a uniform of the opposing team to the game.
Thankfully, I've never seen too much of it in Beaver Stadium. There have been some unfortunate/awful incidents (the treatment of the OSU band in 2005, the OSU fans downtown at the Fraternity that was caught on video, the Nebraska fan's hat in 2002, etc), but they have been few and far between.

Last time I was there (20+ years ago?), they had one tv and it was probably 24" from 1979. Hopefully they upgraded by super bowl. I'm sure that was a great place to watch.
Nope, a projector worthy of a scranton moose lodge and a few 43”ers you can’t see cause of the snowflakes. We were all there to watch the Green Bay game in September and the projector was a bit off. I moved off my stool, grabbed my beer and the bouncer stood on the bar with his dirty vans and adjusted the alignment. He hopped down, I got back on the stool and the gorgeous 30yo next to me who was 6” from the vans said “that wasn’t very sanitary”. I laughed, she made it another 30 mins.

1 and GF are looking at a house on south camac 3minute walk to DF. If they buy it, surely I will die in franks

Maybe you don't...but I'm guessing that BCT Partners will (assuming that he's been accurately identified).
They said...

"The management at BCT Partners has been made aware of a video circulating involving an employee making offensive remarks outside of the workplace. BCT Partners does not condone this type of behavior, and the employee’s conduct is not reflective of our values as an organization. We are taking immediate steps to address this situation as an internal personnel matter. We empathize with everyone affected and remain committed to fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity."

Thoughts on this???

On one hand, one clown giving the rest of the fans a bad name is not cool and I wish people could just be civil.

on the other hand, this is an every Sunday occurrence in the 200 level. Standard. What can you expect when you come into a playoff game with the opposing teams gear on?? And we have no clue what precluded this interaction. Was she being rude all game?? All I’m saying is 2 sides to the story. And to put this on social media in hopes to find this dude and get him banned from the stadium?? FOR SAYING MEAN THINGS!?!?!? Freaking weak…..

I love this part from the above article:

“"At the same time, again, to be true to our values, we can condemn the actions without condemning the individual. None of us deserve to be remembered for actions taken on our worst day. We have offered grace and support to our former employee. We hope that he will grow, and we all can learn from this deeply disturbing incident. That’s what real inclusion is and does. That is also who we are and what we stand for," the statement continued.”

They sh|t canned him, but they don’t condemn him. This is INCLUSION. o_O . Total corporate bullsh|t. For f*ck’s sake.

This whole thing is so damn stupid. I’m ok with revoking his ability to attend games. But to take his ability to earn a living from not only this job but probably any other meaningful job, all because he said some mean words? Words that I’m sure we’ve all used in our cars while driving to work in the morning. But this was caught on camera. Caught on camera, by a social media influencer who used go-fund-me to raise enough money to buy his ticket to the game, and came with a camera strapped to his chest to record everything. And no one has been able to tell me what happened to preclude this. This occurred during the Josh jacobs TD at the VERY end of the 3rd quarter. You mean to tell me these social media influencers did NOTHING for 3 quarters to fuel the fire while filming everything?? Not saying they did, but these are all the questions that no one is asking because of the 30 seconds caught on camera by an influencer (read that again: INFLUENCER) caused the mob to whip up in a frenzy and now this dude is done. I mean done

yet there are people that claim this guy deserves what he got….

again, and I can’t stress this enough, but what he did was wrong. But what happened to him is SO not proportional. And These two things are not mutually exclusive.

Sticks and stones doesn’t mean what is used to in todays safe space world we live in…..

I guess this is one of those @Mr. Potter rage posts I mentioned….

I'll definitely say that he got what he deserved. It's unfortunate that more people that act like jackasses like that in public don't get recorded and called out on it.

Using those words to yourself in the car vs. yelling them at a woman attending a football game are two very different scenarios. And then pulling his tough guy act...he talks like that to someone in a one on one situation and he risks getting his *** kicked, but the whole "fan culture" is so ridiculous that he knows everyone around him has his back simply because of the clothes that he's wearing that afternoon.

Throw around "sticks and stones" and "safe space" all you want, but this dude was yelling at a woman calling her an "ugly dumb ****" in public...if you owned a business, you'd be cool with your employees doing that in public as long as they weren't on the clock? Good riddance.

You're also using "social media influencer" pretty darn liberally...dude posts some Packers content online that has a few hundred followers, and is able to raise $500, and that makes him an "influencer"? And by "camera strapped to his chest", you mean "cell phone in his hand"...definitely the same thing.

just a thought....

It was the guy's employer that terminated him - perhaps they have rules about how public behaviour may impact employment.

If he was on a company sponsored event at the game (probably unlikely) then without doubt he deserves to lose the job, especially if he had a client with him (again, probably unlikely). But, if his employment agreement (contract or at will) has stipulations about how his personal behaviour may impact his employment, then he simply got caught and is paying the price. You also don't know if he had any past workplace transgressions and this may have been the final straw. 🤷‍♂️

If the tickets were company tickets and he was using them, then that could also be a grounds for termination.

I don't blame the person taking the video. In today's society everything is up for public scrutiny due to video and social media.

The guy knew he was being filmed and kept talking ****.

Three rules to remember:
1. Everybody has a phone. Act like an ******* in public and don’t be shocked if everyone knows your name around the water cooler the next day.
2. You best assume that any stranger you’re getting angry with is packing a gun.
3. If you’re going to drink, remember that drinking releases your inner idiot. 100% this guy was finishing his second six pack.

Keep these rules in mind and act accordingly and you’ll likely be okay.

Most employers have an employee code of conduct that has broad language covering this sort of thing.

Like it or not, the guy is a representative of his employer, at or away from work. As an at-will employee, the company is within its right to terminate him for violating their code of conduct.

Yep - I work for relatively smaller company, but we interface with our clients quite often (mostly in professional settings), but we warn our employees that no matter where they go, they are representing the company. It's entirely feasible they can be out somewhere and run into one of our clients while on personal time. Even if you are on personal time, you are still associated with your employer and people know this.

Let's flip the table a bit though - suppose the woman in question was choking on a Philly soft pretzel, and the guy in question performed the Heimlich and saved her life - and the whole thing was filmed - he would be a hero and his employer would have made mention of this heroic gesture.

It's not the videographer who should be the focus - it's the person who did the act.

Gee Woodpecker, you seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on something called ... [checks notes] The McAndrew Board

That’s not the problem, Bernard. Escaping from McNeil Island, that’s the problem. Also, “boom boom Care Fest” is not a good look.

In my current job, the recruiter asked me to accept her friend requests on Facebook and Instagram as part of the background check. The company does not want to risk hiring some closet neo-nazi crazy.

What if you don't have a social media account? (unless that it is expected that you have one in your line of work).

I would have been fired had I done something similar. Our code of conduct is broad.

“For actions taken on our worst day”….so his worst day was at a playoff football game where his team won? Good lord, some people should not be sports fans.
