WFT with a TD and PAT makes it 20-17, Birds, with 11+ left in the game.

There’s a lot of time left and Wash is right back in this despite Philly dominating the stat sheet.

This is what happens when you turn the ball over and give away points. Buckle up!

I guess the Iggles just don’t see Sanders as an every-down back. 😑

2 minute warning, Birds with the ball, and leading 27-17. I think they're going to win the game.

Eagles produced a lot of yards. Game was close due to the TOs. I don’t know if they are better than WFT if both teams were at full strength. But, still in the playoff race which is the objective.

Hurts breaks record for rushing TDs by Eagles QB (10) in a season and was 20/26 passing. Boobie has about 131 yards rushing, and Goedert was the leading receiver. Plenty of room for improvement but it looks like this team is heading for the playoffs.

The Eagles playoff chatter should be done after tonight. What an awful start.

Washington is going to win definitely tonight. The Eagles are choking big time.

I think Minshew is going to be warming up shortly.

This team is poorly led and prepared. Been that way all season. Look across the field at Rivera and staff who have a backup roster prepped and flying around in a must-win game for both sides.

3 points closer to losing. That was a third crucial mistake in the first half.

It’s amazing how much better Gilbert is at reading the field than Hurts. Alarmingly so.

It’s the same think every game with you. I’m sorry man, I really enjoy conversations with you about the eagles but I can’t handle your negativity anymore.

@WestSideLion is good Birds fan. The Birds (and their fans) are in this weird situation of not knowing yet whether they can become a serious contender with Hurts. Some fans are sure the Birds need a different QB to succeed. Other fans are letting it play out, in part because they just don't know how things will evolve. And other fans are convinced that Hurts is more than sufficient; the Birds just need to address many other positions to be a top team.

@WestSideLion is firmly in one of the aforementioned camps. He makes a lot of great observations about the Birds. Only time will tell if his analysis of Hurts (and Howie) are correct or not.

I'm happy to have discussions with him during games, between games, and during the offseason.

I appreciate your concern. I’ll tone it down. I love the birds and want to see a plan for them to contend. I don’t see that plan and am airing my frustrations too much.

Tell me why I should be more optimistic.

Thanks, Tom. I’m just frustrated for the reasons you mention. I love the team (likely too much) and don’t see a firm direction. And that’s been Groundhog Day the past few seasons.

They are what they are - a 7-7 team in a bad division. They can make the playoffs but not be a champion - yet. But they are improving and moving in the right direction. Trust the process - even Howie. They have multiple first round picks next year and will continue to improve. Their coach is improving and their running and passing game look solid. That are getting where they need to be. Enjoy the ride. They can beat the teams they are supposed to beat and have a small shot at the good teams.

Cool. As an eagles fan all 38 years of my life I Appreciate your insight. The broken record of negativity just isn’t something I need in my life. I can appreciate critique. Lord knows they need it. But talk of giving up playoff chatter and Washington DEFINITELY winning….. in the first quarter….. it’s just too much.

We’ll to be fair so did the RAms and Seahawks. Biggest difference is Maction teams are broadcast over the entire country where the NFL just had regional coverage

Fwiw I think you are seeing that plan to contend. That is the commitment to run the ball. They did what they did last night with 2 THIRD team OG!! Think anout that and the depth they have created there. Is that because they drafted well or is it on Stout? IDK but they have it, so they can spend money elsewhere. What else happened? IMO they fixed the D by running the ball
So is Hurts the long term answer? I doubt it but a commitment to run is
