He declared for the NBA draft but he’s projected to go near the end of the second round (I’m surprised he would not go higher), so he may return for another year of college ball. I do think he would benefit from some toughening up to become a better NBA player, but 7’4” is still formidable. I’m not looking forward to having to play against this guy again in college ball. He’s a freak.

Edy is not going to improve his NBA stock by staying one more year. I guess the NIL money he’ll be getting will cushion the blow. Dickinson too.

Edey just doesn't fit in the modern NBA. He is a back to the basket post up C. That clogs the lane restricting his teammates driving. It has nothing to do with him. he's great at what he does, it just isn't NBA ball. Maybe sticking around a year he'll work on adding 3s to his game, which would make him more viable.

Yeah, pretty much how I see it. Purdue was a very young team last year, too, so maybe they will be primed.

When my youngest was in the earlier grades, I made the mistake of teaching him post moves. A waste of time. Not that he's going to play pro, or even college hoops ... but even in youth and HS hoops, the low post game is gone. Big men are just down there to clean up the mess of missed shots. Circle the perimeter looking for an open lane to drive or shoot the 3. That's the game at all levels. Guards don't even know how to get it into a big if he's posting up ... pass around the perimeter or kick out passes when your driving lane goes away. Now the kid's working on his 3s and his crossover all the time.

You never know, he could end up being a veteran point guard on a team without an inside scoring threat and employ this post up moves… it has happened.

Oh, I’ve finally figured that you’re talking about @Moogy ‘s boy. I originally thought you were talking about Edey, lol.

Well, it would be difficult to trap Edey when he could just hold the ball over his head… LOL I doubt he would have the ball skills necessary though.

Just like Earl Monroe who played center in HS, at John Bartram.
Thanks for the reminder. Baltimore Earl Monroe was eyepopping. His knees went early. A lot of good players in the sixties had their careers diminished due to knees. Baylor, Hawkins, Gus Johnson, Bob Lanier, Durrett.
