Yes, the first season of Twin Peaks had a great vibe; I actually purchased the sound track CD. They then got lost and didn't know how to finish. The same with the series, Carnivàle. Intriguing until the series hit the wall.
LOL, I am an Angelo Badalamenti fan and have a few Julee Cruise albums.

Borrowing from Mr. Potter’s post, what are your favorite ‘old’ (no current series) TV shows?

I’ll start with Seinfeld and King of Queens.
Tarzan would be on the list.
My parents were big Western fans so I remember Cheyenne, Big Valley, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, High Chapperell.

Saturday mornings up at 7 for Tales of Wells Fargo and Johnny Quest
Oh man Sat. Mornings were the best. Rocky and Bull Winkle, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest, Space Ghost. And then some of the live action stuff HR Puffenstuff and Land of the Lost were a blast.

Ruff and Reddy cartoons,
Andy Griffith show
but the best sitcom in my opinion was Car 54 Where are You. If you haven’t seen this show the Roku channel has one season free, Tubi, and IMBD channels have both seasons for free. There were only two seasons and the reason that I read was Joe Ross became difficult to work with as he thought he was the reason for the show’s success.

The first season of Sledgehammer was absolutely brilliant. I think it was Al Jean who worked on it, and he ended up moving over to the Simpsons where he took over. The similarities between the shows are quite striking. Season 2 of Sledge was a completely different show without him.

swat. Theme song was awesome!!

battlestar galactica and the sequel series was even better.

battle of the network stars. We learned that fonzie had no athletic ability and mr kotter was still cool and Robert Conrad was pissed off. “ I dare you to knock this battery off””

Lots of good ones here.... one that I don't think I saw mentioned....

Wings

On that note, I was also a fan of Ned & Stacy (which starred Thomas Hayden Church and Debra Messing). It was written by Charlie Kaufman but only lasted two seasons.

I also loved Ally McBeal.

-Star Trek Deep Space Nine
-Monk
Those are the only two I really missed when then left. DS9 was the best.

A couple of others
-The Outer Limits (the original)
-Alien Nation
-Stargate SG1 (Sci fi that's a good comedy)

For comedy
- Third Rock From the Sun (comedy that's great Sci fi. Especially the early seasons)
-The Dick Van Dyke Show
-Married With Children

Good call on Alien Nation. Talk about a program ahead of its time and would still be relevant.
