Most of the stuff in which he invests isn't in Nebraska. He likes to keep overhead low. Would be a dismal failure at PSU.Prosperity? Money? In Nebraska? I guess Warren Buffet has it all wrong?

How is that list of two dozen guys to replace Franklin coming along? It's been a few weeks so I assume you have made some headway.Prosperity? Money? In Nebraska? I guess Warren Buffet has it all wrong?
Freshmen QBs don't work? How so? I'd say the qb outlook for 2024 is as gloomy as this past season and the league is only going to get tougher. Freshmen qb's don't work. On top of that, they are now pinning their hopes on a kid who attended 4 high schools and made 3 college commitments.
When the time comes finding another bottom feeding type will be no problem. Since so many other schools (Washington, Oklahoma, Georgia, TCU, Michigan, Texas, tOSU, etc.) have hired coaches since Penn State hired Bottom Feeder and seen them take them to the playoffs or national championship games, Kraft should be able to find someone. That's what he is paid for.How is that list of two dozen guys to replace Franklin coming along? It's been a few weeks so I assume you have made some headway.
True. Most of the stuff in which he invests isn't in Nebraska. He likes to keep overhead low. Would be a dismal failure at PSU.
Freshmen QBs don't work?
Johnny Manziel? Sam Bradford? Jameis Winston? Dan Marino? Tommy Frazier? Peyton Manning? Jamelle Holieway? Chad Henne? Terrelle Pryor? Robert Griffin III? J.T. Barrett? Jalen Hurts? Trevor Lawrence?
You might want to rethink that idea.
Manziel? Bradford? Winston? Lawrence? Hurts? J.T. Barrett? They all won Heismans or were all conference or AA quarterbacks as freshmen in the past ten years. Huh?You’re bringing up guys from 30-40 yrs ago.
Your post wreaks of jealousy and age. Let me guess, you don’t believe in NIL either? When the time comes finding another bottom feeding type will be no problem. I don't understand the difficulty you Franklin fan boys think it will be to find a successful replacement. It is not like Bottom Feeder has all these conference championships and playoff appearances to match, or anything better than an awful W/L record against ranked opponents. A new coach will also not face having a predecessor with many memorable achievements. Bottom Feeder has seen to that.
The game has changed dramatically since then. You’re living in the past.Manziel? Bradford? Winston? Lawrence? Hurts? J.T. Barrett? They all won Heismans or were all conference or AA quarterbacks as freshmen in the past ten years. Huh?
Yes I bring other quarterbacks up from over the decades to show how ignorant the comment about freshman quarterbacks "not working" is.
No, I do not "believe" in NIL. I do not think the current system is sustainable. It will either collapse, or the top tier programs will break away and adopt a system of paid employee/athletes. What was college football, a system providing opportunity and so appealing to fan bases across the country, is near death. We are not better for it.Your post wreaks of jealousy and age. Let me guess, you don’t believe in NIL either?
Franklins about to win 11 games for the fifth time in 10 years…..including the Cotton, Rose and Fiesta bowls. Choke on it.
ehhh..they look like they came to Nebraska via the transfer portalThey do have some distractions....the good kind.

Changed dramatically? How many freshmen quarterbacks over the past three years have been Heisman contenders, all conference, or AA?The game has changed dramatically since then. You’re living in the past.
You tell me. Do your own homework. I’m not doing it for you. Your conversation included Dan Marino for reference.Changed dramatically? How many freshmen quarterbacks over the past three years have been Heisman contenders, all conference, or AA?
Great comeback. Stay ignorant and defend ignorance. It is what you do.You tell me. Do your own homework. I’m not doing it for you. Your conversation included Dan Marino for reference.
It just wasn't the best case scenario for them. The best case scenario would have been getting a qb with a pulse out of the portal for next year but my hunch is the hotshot freshmen is only going there because of the lack of competition. Nebraska might be the only power 5 program with zero returning qb talent. And is the top QB in the class. I assume they’d rather not have him? They’re not playing for ‘next year’ - this is about laying a foundation for program building.
Ignorance is not realizing the way game has changed. The original commenter had a valid point. The more successful QBs this year were older QBs.Great comeback. Stay ignorant and defend ignorance. It is what you do.
And I could list 50 to every one of those guys that were a disaster starting as a freshmen. And we're not talking about Ohio State or Georgia level skill talent around himFreshmen QBs don't work?

His point was ignorant of facts. It was demonstrably wrong. I named freshman quarterbacks over three generations, including the current era, whose performance showed the observation was wrong. I did not name a comprehensive list, they would be too numerable to include. You chose to insert yourself with comments motivated by who knows what? When you were shown to be making foolish statements you doubled down on them. Good grief, you are nothing if not consistent.Ignorance is not realizing the way game has changed. I like Matt Rhule and hope he builds Nebraska into a playoff contender.Rhule will get Nebraska turned around if they give him the time. He wil mold that team into what Nebraska fans like a strong running game with a good defense.
Just give it up. You were wrong. You were shown to be wrong. You continue to defend an ignorant statement. There have been freshman at many second and third tier programs, even in the past two years, who have been outstanding. We can name senior quarterbacks who stunk. Does that mean seniors "don't work."?And I could list 50 to every one of those guys that were a disaster starting as a freshmen. And we're not talking about Ohio State or Georgia level skill talent around him
“Demonstrably” Big word. I should rethink my opinion. You are clearly correct. His point was ignorant of facts. It was demonstrably wrong. I'm proud to be part of the Alabama section of the state.I don't know if it is such a stretch. James Carville described Pennsylvania as "Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between". We have had the citizens of Central PA described as "deplorables" and people who "hug their guns and their bibles." In a place where the first day of deer season is a holiday it is not like the area is a cultural hot bed or center of athletic achievement.
Those guys were redshirt freshmen too except for Lawrence. Thats not nearly the sameManziel? Bradford? Winston? Lawrence? Hurts? J.T. Barrett? They all won Heismans or were all conference or AA quarterbacks as freshmen in the past ten years. Huh?

He can’t get past Jimbo Fisher. Notice how high demand Jimbo is since he got fired. How is that list of two dozen guys to replace Franklin coming along? It's been a few weeks so I assume you have made some headway.
They are channelling their inner Big 8 days when they had to pay players to compete with Barry Switzer. On a related note, y'all might enjoy today's BuckEye talk podcast. Three guys who can't speak in complete sentences who cover the erosion of their recruiting monopoly on paying players, the thin resume of virtue of their outgoing AD and the impact or lack thereof on the rumors of Larry Johnson's retirement. Also in the podcast was how O$U required top 5 recruiting classes to compete with Meatchickens ability to develop top 20 classes. On paper, PSU recruits between these to #$$hole farms but fails to win on the field.Looks like somebody has been squirreling away some major cash in a barn somewhere.
There are at least ten programs in the Big Ten alone with zero returning QB talent.Nebraska might be the only power 5 program with zero returning qb talent.
Wimsatt is returning for Rutgers. Oh, you said talent. My mistake. There are at least ten programs in the Big Ten alone with zero returning QB talent.
Rutgers Maryland Indiana Illinois Northwestern Iowa Minnesota Wisconsin Michigan State Purdue - and Nebraska.

AS much as I dislike the Corn, MR will get that going in the right direction, they would have won 8+ last sesaon if they would of had any type of QB play. They have an aggressive NIL collective (Top 20 - ranked higher than Clemson and Ohio State per On3) and a sh*t ton of fans desperate for a return to glory.
Yep. He is either the greatest troll ever or the most miserable PSU fan that has ever roamed the earth. What a cranky fu*k you are. You must be balls at a party.
Or game day coaching, to be fair.AS much as I dislike the Corn, MR will get that going in the right direction, they would have won 8+ last sesaon if they would of had any type of QB play.
Yep. He is either the greatest troll ever or the most miserable PSU fan that has ever roamed the earth.
His problem, like many others on the board, is he’s more anti-Franklin than he is pro-PSU. I’m not sure how anyone follows a team where they hate the coach so bad they want to see him fail.Yep. He is either the greatest troll ever or the most miserable PSU fan that has ever roamed the earth.

Let’s take ten steps backward instead of one step forward…not very sound strategy.Retreat to advance.

War and football and are a bit different. I doubt George Washington would get us to 10-2.Tell George Washington.
