This one is still considered the "edgiest' and most brilliant use of talent from two guys who actually did not like each other, from what Hollywood rumors would say - The Word Association skit with Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase. NSFW for language!!!

In the late 70's our Saturday night house parties always tuned into SNL about the time we were all in a "jovial" mood. The parakeet christmas skit ignited one of those laughing frenzies charectoristic of the time; noone could catch their breath.....good memories!!!

It was a good one and as usual Jimmy Fallon can’t last through a whole skit without cracking up.
Which makes it even funnier. Like the Michael Jordan skit with Stuart Smalley and the one where Jordan has to advertise something for when he has the “not so fresh feeling”. He has a huge smirk on his face and is stifling a laugh.

What makes this so perfect IMO are three things:

1. Walken is so good and his delivery, where you're not quite sure what he's going to say next, sort of surprises you when he says 'What I need is more cowbell.'

2. Chris Kattan and Chris Parnell playing it totally straight; especially Parnell.

3. Fallon cracking up.

Ferrell is essential; not sure who else on the SNL roster could have done that. Also any sketch with Horatio Sanz is money.

"Will was hitting the cowbell, and his shirt was coming up, and I had, like, one line," Fallon recalled. "And right before I was supposed to say my line, Chris said something like, 'What's wrong with you?' And he was just messing around with Will, and he knocked his glasses off."
"Then Will looked at me, and I saw the eyes of, like, a crazy person," Fallon said. "Then I just started laughing and I totally broke. I had one line in the whole scene, and I just totally messed up my line."

Fallon said he was lightly reprimanded after the sketch, explaining, "[They said], 'Dude, you can't laugh.' And I go, 'But it was funny.' And they said, 'Yeah, but you're in the scene! You can't laugh at yourself!'"

So many great skits on snl.
“I’m Gumby damn it”
“Van down by the river”
The dance off with Farley and swayze,
The lupners
Junk in a box
Mr Robinson neighborhood
Wayne’s world with madonna
The Dance Off is hilarious.

I’ll add the Schmidt’s Gay Beer commercial and all the Jeopardy skits with Norm McDonald, Will Ferrell, and who ever played Sean Connery. “I’ll take The rapists Alex. It’s Therapists Sean”
