Did I see Debbie Harry listed anywhere in this thread? Not an all time voice, but an iconic lead.

Not at all. He was always a showman first with very limited vocal range. These days he can't sing at all. I have the Van Halen Live in Tokyo album which was released several years ago, and the vocals are embarrassingly poor.Did David Lee Roth have good vocal capabilities?

What about the gals from Fleetwood Mac.............
Not sure if serious but I'd take Stevie Nicks.
Great singers, but not much in the way of stage presence or commanding an audience. Especially McVie.What about the gals from Fleetwood Mac.............
He would definitely get my vote for best backing vocalist. This list is way too subjective to have definitive answers and I canāt really argue with anyone that was included. If youāre going on voice alone, Iāll add Michael McDonald. His voice is one of the most distinctive in the industry.
You're right it's all subjective- when I see Micheal McDonald, I think "ruined the Doobie Brothers".This list is way too subjective to have definitive answers and I canāt really argue with anyone that was included. To be honest, I was never a big Doobie Brothers fan. I just think his voice is unique. You're right it's all subjective- when I see Micheal McDonald, I think "ruined the Doobie Brothers".
You should just Listen to the Music. You're right; I keep forgettin'
Why not serious? Fleetwood had a long string of hits and tours that match up pretty well with abouit every group this side of the Rolling Stones.
Styx part of my unholy trinity of 80s music. Styx, Genesis/Phil Collins, Journey. If it comes down to chops, Iām not a huge Styx fan but Dennis Deyoung had some good ones.
