What say you? For those blissfully unaware, Iowa lost to OSU in overtime and fans stormed the court. As she was making her hasty exit, Caitlin Clark collided with a Buckeye fan. Genuinely hurt, or trying out for La Liga?

In the largest view of the court I've seen, the OSU fans rushed the court after the win. The fans are concentrated in the center of the court. I can finally see in one of the videos above her gaze is to the left. The fan she ran into was a late straggler into the center court. The fan shouldn't have been there, but was oblivious to Clark. Clark didn't espy the fan so the collision ended up on ESPN. IMO, she couldn't have planned a flop as she didn't know the contact was coming. But the spin fall looked very Costanza-like.

Not La Liga worthy, but not much of a collision either. She saw the person soon enough to reach out with both arms and do a little spin to avoid a direct blow. That she fell down is no big deal. It did look like she stayed down longer than necessary. To me, it looked like she was milking it a little. I notice that the student got right up without dramatic pause.

Don't think that Clark had more than the wind knocked out of her. What I don't get is why the fan didn't go over to see if she was okay, a common courtesy that should be extended to anyone in a similar situation. Oh, it was an Ohio State fan. Shouldn't have expected anything more.

Clark is a drama queen, but with that said the court should have been controlled and the players and coaches should be able to exit safely.

I can't imagine why anyone associated with Iowa should be upset. There are no worse fans than the ones they have. Upset at OSU?? Pot, kettle, and all that....

She definitely could have used more awareness getting off the court. I understand it's not the place for fans but she didn't need to be running full speed in that situation. It could have ended much worse than it did. Could you imagine if she dislocated a shoulder, tore ligaments or worse?

The fan paused… in mid-air mind you! That was one, magic loogie!

To me it looked like she simply wasn't paying attention to where she was going and then she embellished with drama like she was trying to get a foul call. Not sure it was European soccer worthy, (that’s a ridiculously high bar of fakery), but it was over the top. The fan got right up and moved on.

It is Iowa so maybe she was faking an injury to slow down the storming of the court? ;)

In all seriousness, that was as weak of a storming of the court that I’ve seen in a long time. Watch some of the guys games for comparison.

I’m sure ESPN will rev this up to her very life being in danger but, to me, it seemed to be a player not paying attention to where she was going who literally ran into the only fan running onto the court by her. It’s not like the entire end zone student section was flooding onto the floor and flattened her.

…….. the spin fall looked very Costanza-like.

The more I looked at it, the spin fall looks like a conditioned response in trying to draw a foul. It’s just second nature with some of these players now. They feel contact and throw up their hands and fall to the floor looking for a call.

I’ve been saying that for years. They are bottom feeder fans. With that said, it looks like Clark has a promising career in soccer.

Exactly why I don’t watch basketball. After watching my sons wrestle and one play lacrosse, I almost find myself yelling “knock them out of bounds” as they dribble up the sideline. Not my cup of tea.

Someone said Ohio State should forfeit the season.

Looked like a mutual collision, neither saw the other until it was too late.

but the fan had no business being on the court.

C’mon people. She’s an oversized “female” playing for the Hawkeyes.

She/Her/It needs to learn how to take a charge. 🙄🤷🏼‍♂️

Agree. I think muscle memory took over here. Her natural response to drawing contact is to get the foul call!

Storming the court for a regular season meaningless win in basketball is dumb. I even cringed when PSU did it a few weeks ago. Storming the court is becoming like the standing ovation, every body gets one for just showing up. Its dumb, dumb, dumb. And yeah this is ESPiN to to sensationalize something stupid because they have become irrelevant as everyone is seeing thru their bullshiite stories.

Wow lot’s of comments on here debating whether she flopped. This is why fans should not rush the court.

Change her name to LeBron and she has a future in the NBA..... I kid, I kid.

Hard to tell how much impact she really took, but certainly looks like a bit of over dramatization. But, no Y chromosome, so if like most of the girls that age I know, should be no surprise here. Slow news days for this to get so much play...

FWIW, there was an incident on the men’s side this weekend too with a court storming

Missed that but still very rare compared to the number of court stormings over the decades. In general, I just don’t think you use the outlier to make a blanket rule or ban on an issue.
