Early in the 4th Franklin smartly decides to punt on 4th and short and pins Michigan inside their own 10. We hold, and Hardy returns a nice punt to the 50. But, refs call a holding penalty on the return (debatable at best) and backs us up inside the 30. Get an offside call, so move up five, but on 2nd and 3 we call a flea flicker that ends up being called intentional grounding and we’re 3rd and 13 from the 25. Allar Uncle Rico’s the next pass and we punt. Sigh.

I understand your curiosity but please don’t agonize over clear B1G game orchestration.

The faux holding penalty was called because PSU had a chance to win. The next 5 yd call was simply to make things look even.
