From Future Football Schedules:
Mississippi State will host ULM at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Miss., on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026. The Bulldogs will pay the Warhawks a $1.45 million guarantee for the game, according to the copy of the contract.

An aside: If State is paying ULM over $1.4 million to play football in 2026, the university is going to spend money on looking for a women's basketball coach.

Thats a good local team to play.

We have 4 nonconference teams scheduled for 2026 (ULM, @Minnesota, Troy, Tennessee Tech) does this mean 8 conference games are still gonna be the norm in 2026 with Oklahoma and Texas joining? Or is the most likely option gonna be dropping the Tennessee Tech game for 9 conference games if that becomes the standard.

Yep. People have been saying a 9th conference game is imminent for 20 years. It wasn't then and it's probably not now. We just matched up 2 SEC teams in the national championship game. I don't see them hurting the chances of that happening again by adding another conference game.
