This season is feeling a lot like the 1986 season. We had a team on the verge of being pretty good, but lost several close games to ranked opponents, some of whom we outplayed. We went on to compile an unimpressive 3-6-2 record because that team couldn't quite get over the hump. The core of that team came back in 1987 and had a very good season.

Unfortunately, the current state of college football means there are no guarantees that a promising but inconsistent young team will mature into a strong team next year. Who knows where your most promising players will land next year. Every year, you pretty much have to catch lightning in a bottle.

This is all true. But the youth thing is only true for the offense, right? The defense, which is carrying us, is graduating quite a few players this year, right?

And the announcers last week made some comment about us having over 30 seniors.

Don't be shocked that we will probably lose DC Clayton White after this season. He is probably our best coach on the staff.

Guy called post game show from NC saying recruits up there, because of the car wreck UNC has been, are viewing SC as a place they can see themselves.
Now, have no clue who this guy is nor his credibility to offer a statement such as that but, knowing there quiet a few high quality athletes up there & we'll have many needs on defense. I hope our coaches are up there being invited to become surrogate family members w/ open dining invitations.
