For you thinking of pulling for Tennessee

I'd never pull for UT, even against Clemson. Yeah, I said it. I hate UT at the very least as much as I hate Clemson, and maybe more than I hate Clemson. I lived in Tennessee during the Peyton Manning glory days. It was awful.

For those of you too young to remember Tennessee as perennial SEC contender, their fanbase was absolutely insufferable during most of the Phillip Fulmer era. Nobody wants to see that again. Mix Clemson fans with some Kentucky basketball fans in a pot, add a cup of Hart County Georgia bulldogs fans and a pinch of NC State fans, bring it to a boil, and let simmer for about 12 hours. The foul-smelling bright orange goo that sets off your smoke alarms when you pour it out of the pot is the Tennessee fanbase when their team is winning. Roll Tide.

Reminds me of the guy sitting on his porch in TN watching a dog licking his scrotum and he says "man, I wish I could do that" and his friend says, "that dog will bite yoooouuuuuu"

I sure hope Young is back under center and fully recovered and the bama receivers can hold on to the football. Back in the day Fulmer had some serious criminals on the roster.

I think they still do. Didn't they just have a guy arrested for assault? And I thought it was the second or third arrest this year.

My hope is that Bama destroys them. I'm afraid my hope won't be realized.

Anyone who claims to be a Gamecock fan and who WANTS to see Tennessee reemerge as nationally relevant just doesn't have his head screwed on right. This could be the defining game as to whether or not they regain national prominence.

Anyone who doesn't realize how their rise jeopardizes our program's upward mobility needs to go back to the womb and start over somewhere in the 1990s. Then that person might know something.

They are an eminent threat to us as long as divisional football remains in the SEC and also if we wind up in a permanent group of four with them.

Seeing criminals is power (though not as bad as Fulmer days) is a bad thing, so I agree we don't want TN to win. Definitely would be an impediment for a Gamecock rise.

Imho, Kentucky entire "run" was built on the downturn of Florida and tenn. They filled that void, and kudos to them for doing it.

But with uga being uga, if tenn and God forbid Florida both rebound, Kentucky and usc will be fighting for fourth place.

Huepel succeeding in rebuilding tenn not only knocks us down a peg in the east, but hurts recruiting too. No one here should be happy to see tenn succeed.

Our downturn also. We were ahead of them for awhile.

Inarguable. For years, I have been asserting - and have been criticized for doing so - that Tennessee, as a traditional power that still yearns for the big-time - would rise again because they would keep plugging and playing coaches until they got it right. It now appears that they might have finally gotten it right. But if not, they will not settle. They are like UPC in that respect, as well as many other schools that have drunk from the gold chalice - Southern Cal, Texas - people like that always come back eventually.

Any Gamecock fan pulling for Tennessee has some serious issues. Oh hell no!!!

It doesn't matter. I have it on good authority their coach sucks and the only thing that makes them any good is a single mediocre acc qb that transferred in.

Our fanbase is something else man. I don't understand it at all. I don't think there's another one like it anywhere. Most really can't see the big picture. Arky fans would never pull for LSU or Bama if they played TN. Neither would AM fans but yet here we have some of ours openly pulling for TN. I think we have more casual fans than most and that's why we have the rah rah rah types. Everything is just fine no matter what. I guess it's a great way to live to be honest, though lol.
