My son is still a good 7+ years from getting his drivers license but I still have nightmares about this type of thing. She was in a car accident. She had just turned 17 a couple of days prior.
Man that is just brutal. I cannot even fathom that kind of loss.
Absolutely different. My first born passed last Sept 19th. It's hard. My dad this last Jan 20th. No comparison. You are not suppose to watch your child die. Period. If you have kids, it's easy to fathom it. I have told everyone. When my son passed, people at work would say that, and it is imaginable. It's as bad as you think it can be. I'm 5 years removed and can still get gut punched over it without even seeing it coming....like this post. It's different than losing a parent. I refer to it as the wound that doesn't heal. I learn to shield myself from the sensitive conversations, but my sons casket flag is here in store and I engraved on the glass case. We gets lots of military who ask for the same. We have a regular customer who just found out after coming in for 3 years. I felt obliged to give her all the details as she was asking. We both were sobbing in no time.
