This makes me strangely optimistic

Fountain had a confusing 2 seasons. He really helped put and showed not just flashes of good play, but the ability to play well game after game back 2 seasons ago as a freshman. He got a bunch of time against South Carolina, followed it up with 20pts against LSU, and then stayed in the rotation for the rest of the season.
He played more minutes, shot it better, and was more effective off the ball as a freshman.
Really hoped he would have stayed. Always neat for homegrown talent to play.


As for Jeffries, what a confusing bundle of potential and disaster.

If either one of them were any good, we would have made it past the 1st round of the NIT.

I take absolutely no joy in saying this, but I saw Jeffries play Velma Jackson and Nick Weatherspoon when he was a sophomore in HS. He was already being touted as a future 5 star. I didn't see it at all. Sadly for DJ, I was right.
