It just don’t sit right with me. I prefer Thanksgiving day, but Saturday is perfectly fine. Friday just feels bush league, even if it is a day off for lots of folks.

Most people have to work on Friday afternoons, It's a bad decision. Just put it on Saturdays and be done with it.

What's it matter? It's been played on Thanksgiving night, Saturday afternoon and night, and Black Friday a couple of times also in the last 25 or so years. It's on national TV. Much better than the 1:00 kickoffs in Jackson with no TV I grew up with.
Actually for this particular game I wish it was a 1:00 game with no tv

IMO, this game should start at midnight on Friday. That would be a plus plus.

They need to put it on at 11:30 Saturday, bring back the old JP Sports 3 Daves, and let us relive the bad old days. That's the broadcast this years game deserves.
I’d be happy with this year it just being on the radio with some Jack sound bites thrown in.

A&M - Texas is gonna be the new Thanksgiving game on ESPN.
Maybe, but probably not. SEC doesn't want the NFL competition for one of its premier games. Looks like Texas vs A&M will be a Friday game going forward (it's Saturday this year but according to this article SEC wanted it on Friday but couldn't make the schedules work on late notice). So, Egg Bowl probably isn't staying on Friday. Interestingly, there is no Thanksgiving game this year. So my guess is Egg Bowl goes to Thanksgiving if there is a Thanksgiving game going forward, or Saturday if there's not.

We'll see. Egg bowl always draws ratings even with NFL competition. UT/A&M was a traditional Thanksgiving game for years.

Grew up in Ms(Jackson). Season Ticket holder till 2019 Moved to SC after college. Loved eating Turkey and heading up to Vegas when it was on Thanksgiving. Came back to almost all Eggs through yrs, when I had my parents there other relatives. Now close relatives are gone. Back in 2021, we stayed in a Starkville hotel after the game, the only restaurant open was Buffalo Wild wings that I remember and a 2 hr wait. Probably was always that way but I was heading to Jackson after the game anyway.. Could not even get a pizza delivered. I get it every one is off, but if you have 62k in town, national TV, the only TV game and the town can't support it, don't do it.
