He made a bad first hire on the OC hire. He seems to have corrected it. The O isn't great, but Logg is fighting with one hand tied behind his back with the OL/RB rooms. It seems he made a bad hire on the DC hire as well. Hopefully he gets it corrected quickly.

White's extended contract runs through '24. 1.1M.

He should be shown the door. He's had time enough to show he can't get it done.

Will Shane have what it takes to release him if he can't show any improvement the rest of the year?

Most of our focus has been on the offense over the past year. With the offense improved, the defense is becoming the weak link. With the exception of our corners, it's tough to blame it on talent or experience. I really didn't like how we had our safeties playing run first on Saturday. It really exposed our corner and set-up their QB for a career night.

MSU had run the ball 99 times vs 75 passes in the 3 games prior to ours. They morphed into a run first offense this year. Against us, they threw it 48 times to 23 runs. They tried to establish the run early, and the D did a good job against it. We scored 2 TDs on the first 2 drives, and they started throwing it all over the place. So I'm not surprised they were focusing on the run. But when it became evident they were going to throw it, we didn't seem to adjust to it.

We've played a heisman contender, the number 1 team in the nation, and the SEC's third leading career passer. We'll end up somewhere around 10th in th league at most of these stats.

We have weak links in our secondary, there is no doubt, but they are playing good enough for us to have one every game if our offense was consistent.

I think Clayton gets another pass this year and then has next year to show improvement.

Do you think Rhule will take another dog for a friend?

100% agree. I was just surprised in the 2nd half on clear passing downs that we were getting beat over the top with very little safety help.

How is it not talent or experience? Have you looked at the youth on that side of the roster?

I think you are spot on. I believe White is capable, as he has done it in the past, unlike our previous OC.

It will be interesting to see how UNC does this year, how good is that QB, same for UGA, maybe UGA QB is not that good, time will tell.

Seems like a lot of the year left, to see how things turn out.

Hopefully the running game continues to evolve in a positive direction with Anderson, that can only help the defense to.

If the UGA qb was being graded on a curve, he'd be about at 75%. He isn't bad but he isn't going to take that team on his back and win a game like Stetson could.

Being last in a lot of these categories isn’t a good look but adding context to these stats would help. When 3/4 games are against tough competition compared to the rest of the SEC that played 3-4 cupcakes, then your overall stats will look worst than the league. Our defense isn’t the reason we lost against Unc or UGA. He’s also dealing with a younger group and it’s going to take time to get where you want to be when you start your schedule like we did. Good news is we haven’t played our best yet and it’s going to happen soon. Comparing league stats is weird when everybody only played 4 games. The run defense definitely gotten better and we’re coming off having Jaycee Horn, Izzy, Jammie Robinson, and Johnny Dixon starting in the secondary and we couldn’t stop anybody through the Air. I think White is doing a fine job.

Where is the youth on D?? He's got a veteran group. DQ and Nick E have played a ton of snaps even through they're soph. Everyone else has at least 3 years of ball under their belts. That's not a valid excuse for sucking as bad as he has. And Johnnie Dixon never played for us.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it. He's trending in the wrong direction.

One LB had been here multiple years and is probably 23 or 24 and the other played a good bit last year and is highly rated. Our DL has a ton of experience and most were highly rated. We have an all American, experienced safety and the second is very talented. What am I missing? CB is where we are young and inexperienced. Stone and Nick are young but are experienced and talented.

I agree, but we're not young at CB either. Fortune is a RS JR and Dial is a RS SR.

Secondary looked confused and overthinking it for 2nd half GA and entire MSU game.
Appears scheme/defensive calls were the culprit - need to give them more freedom to make plays.

I have been a supporter of White. However the defense appears to be regressing. Year 1, his D kept us in games. He made huge strides in tackling in year 1. That seems to be regressing as well. I do think he is capable. He has usually made quality adjustments resulting in better play in the second half.

Tackling is absolutely regressing. We are dead last in the SEC in missed tackle %, 10th in rushing yards after contact, and last in pass yards after catch. If you can't get to the ball, and you can't tackle once you get to it, there's something drastically wrong.

This is all per sec stat cat.
