Firstly, there is no history of doing that to slow down offenses under Franklin, secondly, Iowa has always been plenty capable of slowing their own offense. That Ferentz took that as far as he did was insane(I smell a rat). Not only was he totally classless about the fact we got critical players hurt, he is apparently almost as dumb as Mel Tucker.....why would Penn State dream of slowing that awful offense down?

The Clifford injury was never questioned.
It was that one possession later in the game that Klatt even commented on.

And I've said it before, Iowa is the perfect team to flop against. When that one drive might result in a score that will win the game for them, that's the team you flop against. You DON'T flop against a high octane offense. That would be like 20 flops a game? Not happening.

Iowa saw something eerily similar vs MSU some years back. Same situation. Add to the fact that Iowa fans in general are very jittery against big teams, there you go. I mean, they boo the football falling off the tee for chrissakes.

I appreciate the reasonable response, so apologies for not showing empathy to an outwardly insecure fanbase. No, Penn State nor almost any other team has/had any interest in slowing that offense down. Now, the nepotistic little OC....he loves slowing that offense down, chewing up clock, and punting. So if I have Iowa's argument right... penn state faked injuries, two of which cost us our entire season, in an effort to slow down the momentum of a glacial offense...one in which averages in the neighborhood of 16-18 points a game? Even if I subtract the constant droning of "Ped State," the unrivaled bombast on this very blog by Iowa fans after that game telling us "peds" we suck......the fans, the flopping coaches, and the "smell a rat" discussions after the game were enough to hate the program forever. You can defend the injury take(not really), but not the rest.
