Not only that, but what did he see in his first 2 seasons from the OL to justify not going outside to hire a proven, quality OL coach? I truly don't understand his thinking.

And we just kept throwing short **** to the RBs in the flat. They looked predetermined and went nowhere.
Why is there no RB staying back to help block? This is just sad to watch.

I know it’s crazy but 4th and 19 isn’t happening. Kick the FG. 8 minutes is enough time to score twice and win. If nothing else score a TD, get 2 and be down 3.

Trying not to be over reactionary for the 1 st game. But you don’t just quickly get better on the OL. We’re stuck for a while with this crap.
No you don’t. 2 scores, yes. But a two point conversion after a TD and a FG is 11. The odds are much better than going for 4th and 19.
The only way we could have thought our OL was serviceable is because they were judged against our DL - they both are so terrible they make each other look good in practice.

Ray Tanner is a dolt and the athletic department as a whole reflects his relentless incompetence.
D-Line not has good as last year either. We are still 2 recruiting cycles away from being contenders. I think Beamer can do it but it’s wait and see at this point. I think it’s more lack of talent than coaching at this point.
The same 5 will be out there next week too…watch. They will not sit one of them.

I agree it took Spurrier 6 years (I think) before we were really good.
