It’s not “college” football anymore. Also need to start paying players more…the biggest difference between tosu and us is $$$. Their coach is only slightly better than ours…their players drive better cars.
Well said.I believe that James is a good man and overall, a solid representative for our University. He has also done a very good job getting our slow-moving administration to modernize in the college football arms race in terms of NIL, branding, and investment into facilities. He also came into the program at a time where our place in the college football world was a little uncertain. For those things, I will give him a ton of credit and I appreciate what he's done for us.
But this fan base deserves better than 1 - 10 against our biggest rival, and 1-13 against top 5 teams.
Paying players more wouldn't stop them from getting a taunting penalty to extend a drive that ends in a OSU TD. Paying players more doesn't mean anything if those calling the plays don't put the players in the best position to win the games. Paying players more doesn't necessarily mean they will be smart enough to make a correct read or work harder to get themselves open. Also need to start paying players more…the biggest difference between tosu and us is $$$. Urban Meyer, Urban Meyer, Urban Meyer. If you want to win championships: Urban Meyer. The buyout is a huge albatross around Kraft’s neck, but let’s say he comes up with the cash money thanks to the beautiful people or many who smell like us:
Franklin may never get over the hump, but he does win a lot of games. How often does a school fire a guy with Franklin’s record (just for wins and losses and not resulting from a scandal)?
Penn State hasn’t won a national championship since 1986. Would it be arrogant for Kraft to fire Franklin thinking someone better would take the job?
Who could Penn State hire who is better than Franklin? This is not to say that there aren’t better options. Rather, who of the better would come to Penn State? Day? Lanning? Penn State isn’t getting those guys. So, who?
That was a ticky tack penalty that never should have been calledPaying players more wouldn't stop them from getting a taunting penalty to extend a drive that ends in a OSU TD.
Unfortunately, the rulebook disagrees with you. Plus, we also don't know what Washington said to the player as he stepped over him. That was a ticky tack penalty that never should have been called
Should of had a title in 1994.The buyout is a huge albatross around Kraft’s neck, but let’s say he comes up with the cash money thanks to the beautiful people or many who smell like us:

I think it's better to question if it would have been called on OSU had the roles been reversed, but it was such an easy, obvious call for the refs to make. #9 tackled him from the side, and intentionally straddled him and put his junk in his face. Nothing ticky tack about it - it's a penalty, clear as day. These players know better. It's a lack of discipline and #9 should have sat the rest of the game. That was a ticky tack penalty that never should have been called
As long as he continues to go 10-2 every year, he won't be fired. I'm not even sure that I know who I'd want right now. Before the season began, I was a Rhule guy. The bloom is off that rose now. Gotta be careful what you wish for.The buyout is a huge albatross around Kraft’s neck, but let’s say he comes up with the cash money thanks to the beautiful people or many who smell like us:

I am sick of him playing these games the same way, banging his head against a wall expecting different results.Guy coaches scared and neuters his assistants in big games. Done supporting this guy and his ********
I am sick of him playing these games the same way, banging his head against a wall expecting different results.
I’m sick of a SLOPPY, UNDISCIPLINED TRASH TALKING team showing up.
I’m sick of him telling the crowd he needs their help, when he does squat to get them revved up once the first five minutes run by.
I’m sick of his Psychology Major bullshite.
I’m sick of him not being able to recruit linebackers or wide receivers.
I’m sick of his make no sense distractions like the airport runway.
This isn’t a rash decision as some schools make. It is an accumulation of ills over time that Kraft has to address.
Lots of the base has persevered with James through killer losses. There is no more time for perseverance. Ten plus seasons has revealed his limitations. They are limitless. MOVE ON, PENN STATE.
It would cost somewhere around 70-5 million to get rid of CJF, assistants and all the people involved in the operations. Now times 2 to bring in the new guy and all of his people. Is the BOT going to shell out that kind of coin for a team that wins 9-10 games a year, plays in a decent bowl, puts 111k in the stands, sella’s out all hotels etc…. And like you said, give me a name. Plus…. Happy Valley United loves CJFThe buyout is a huge albatross around Kraft’s neck, but let’s say he comes up with the cash money thanks to the beautiful people or many who smell like us:

Did they not say during the game that the refs were not going to call ticky-tacky penalties and would let the players decide the game? I could’ve sworn I heard that.Unfortunately, the rulebook disagrees with you. Plus, we also don't know what Washington said to the player as he stepped over him.
Refs didn’t hear the announcer say that.Did they not say during the game that the refs were not going to call ticky-tacky penalties were going to let the players decide the game? I could’ve sworn I heard that.
Oh. My badRefs didn’t hear the announcer say that.
He’s just not a good enough coach.I actually appreciated his post game interview. There were no excuses. He owned it, took his medicine. It sounded like he is feeling the pressure. Need to see the results show up next week against Washington, which will be a tough opponent.
Well we should beat them easily. No excuses. Should run the tableI actually appreciated his post game interview. There were no excuses. He owned it, took his medicine. Michigan and Ohio State get rid of a coach for losing too much to the other team. The buyout is a huge albatross around Kraft’s neck, but let’s say he comes up with the cash money thanks to the beautiful people or many who smell like us:

“Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane”We just have to hope that someday he gets it done in a big game or two
Who knows what Gus & Klatt heard. They could have been making it up for all we know. Officials shouldn't be talking to game commentators anyway. Either way, what Washington did wasn't ticky-tack as that official had the flag out immediately.Did they not say during the game that the refs were not going to call ticky-tacky penalties and would let the players decide the game? I could’ve sworn I heard that.
THere’s my list of grievances and it’s not even Festivus yet:
Discipline in playing… too many offsides, and personal fouls
TACKLE! How many times do we waft or run right by someone
Interior Linemen— I’ll even cook for them if they come
killer instincts- like they ain’t beating us in our house
Receivers
Maybe 5 *s get too complacent
Player development… are they getting better, I’m not sure
Hope this makes sense. I’m multitasking as I write this and trying to calm down my husband who’s calming down our irate PSU students on the phone.
I fear that Franklin’s will **** the bed in one of those games. It’s clockworkWell we should beat them easily. No excuses. Should run the table
Next 4 games!!
Maybe not but tell me about the unsportsmanlike penalty after the pick six. Tell me about the unsportsmanlike penalty on third and long. They cost field position and ultimately scores. Punk moves and it's things like that that will lose me. In fact they may already have but who needs mePSU is not firing Franklin for losing 2 games a year
Nor should they
We just have to hope that someday he gets it done in a big game or two
In the meantime, this narrative that PSU alums need to step up with more NIL money is horsepucky
Let those filthy rich SOBs who disenfranchised a couple generations of alums write big checks
They will still have plenty in the bank
It's the Den. They pay to be obtuse. The Den has already turned the corner here (OSU preseason #1, one score loss, had some bad calls, we’re not as good and haven’t been for many, many years, still in the playoff hunt, etc.) - you wonder if anyone cares if we ever beat OSU…?
