That’s 11. Still have Ole Miss & Alabama we have to jump to get in. Lost to both teams and let’s be honest…it’s Alabama. Will the committee actually choose us over Alabama? I think it’s a long shot. I do think the final spot will go to an SEC school.

Be ready for extreme disappointment on the day the bracket is announced. Go SMU!

I will if the time comes. But hell, I want the playoff. No idea what we’ll have in the bowl game if we don’t go to the playoff. I’d assume we’d have quite a few key players opt out.
This is my concern as well. Most of our stars will opt out if it’s not the playoffs.

I don't think SMU would be left out even if they were to lose the championship game to CU.

Let’s be content with a possible 10-3 season and near top 10 finish.
I'm not content with getting cheated out of the playoffs by the refs of the LSU game. We played well enough and should have won without their interference changing the outcome of the game.

Agreed. With the age of our defense, we may be looking at more than few opt outs. It appears that will be the norm going into most non playoff bowls now.

So we'll have backups against backups.

Here's the problem the way you laid it out and the way I see it....

As another poster stated, I don't see SMU being left out, even if they lose..... that's 12 teams...

Serious question: Who do we jump????......because I'm not seeing it, no matter how badly I want to see it. Your list is right.

Heck, as much as we hate it, will Miami fall all the way behind us?

Yes. I do wonder if we'll even hear the term "strength of schedule" mentioned in the coming week or two.

During the LSU/OU game, they showed the "teams on the edge". They showed us, Miami, smu and Bama. We had a better SOS than Miami and smu, of course, but lesser records.

But we had the same record and worse SOS than bama. And they had a top win of Georgia, where our highest rank win was clemson. Not to mention the head to head.

That and the head to head leaves us with "momentum" as our selling point. They didn't list Ole Miss stats.

Man I sure would lke to see us in but I'm not counting on it. Truth is we started the season out not as goood as we are now and there aint a thing we can do about it. We've done all we can do from that point on and it''s enough imo to hold our heads up high. Whatever happens from hear on out I'm good. Let the chips fall where they may. That said, I would like to see a system adopted in the future that takes scenarios like that into account if it doesn't now.

Agreed. Perhaps I'm just reverse jinxing us. I just want to relish the season, and not have it spoiled if we miss the playoffs. We weren't counting on that anyway.

Probably. They were basically handed a game by the officials against VT. They struggled down the stretch.

This likely comes down to Alabama, SMU (if Clemson wins), Ole Miss, and us. I just don’t see them taking us over the historical Alabama program after they beat us head to head.

I believe they’ll list us as the first team out, followed by SMU or Ole Miss. Who knows?

The wildcard here is LaNorris Sellers. At the end of the day this is about entertainment and ratings. If the hype gets big enough for him…then maybe. Seeing some National guys asking for it, in particular Barstool Sports. Will it be enough? I don’t think so.

I still think they leave SMU out if they lose to Clemson but a lot of that may depend on how that game goes. To be safe, go Mustangs! I was pulling for Miami to win today as well. It’s pathetic Clemson could score a total of 17 points against ranked teams this season, lose 3 games, beat no ranked teams, and get a 1st round bye. The system is already broken.
