It's a matter of choice not eligibility. Because if the portal window timing Beau chose to enter the now so that he has more opportunities to choose from. The SMU QB has chosen to enter the portal after the playoffs.
If you are a legit game changing player....you'll have plenty of options no matter when you hit the portal. I believe Beau would have had the same school's offering him if he had decided to play thru the playoffs....and if had played well even more. It's a matter of choice not eligibility. And why don't we have a backup now that has taken any snaps? My three stages of Beau went like this:
1) I had the general opinion during the early part of the season that running plays for Beau were killing the momentum of the offense.
2) Then when he played well to bring home the win against Wisconsin, I was glad that we had gotten Beau some game experience early in the season.
3) Now I will be holding my breath every time Allar takes a hit because we don't have a backup QB who has game experience.
Penn State had done everything right this season to have a backup QB who was well-prepared. It really stinks that we don't have that experienced backup QB going into the playoffs. Hopefully it won't be a factor over these next four Penn State games in December and January.
Exactly.......He already decided he was going to run before the ball was snapped to portal; he was never going to pass on that. Seriously, if a team wants him, they could wait until he was available. If they'd rather have someone else, his portalling early won't matter.
Exactly the game has evolved in a very odd way the last few years and some folks cannot deal with change so they lash out at the players. The players are doing what they need to do for themselves within the crappy rules that exist. For the most part only one QB gets the snaps and most thought Drew would be a 3 and out person, he's not and BP wants to play so he's moving when he has the most options available. Some folks were fine riding the pine for most of their life so they don't get it. Nobody including BP, JF, and the majority of people like this, but reasonable people can at least understand it.It's a business now, and kids will make business decisions. That’s how I see it. Pribula wouldn’t be one of the top portal QBs and he wanted to maximize his opportunities by entering the portal now rather than wait for the 5 day window after Penn State’s season is over. As you can see, he is already taking visits. If he was determined to leave then I can’t blame him and wish him the very best best. I also don’t blame Franklin for taking his position either.Did everyone listen to Franklin's press conference? Franklin said they have a policy that once you enter the portal, you are no longer on the team. But they looked into making an exception here and ultimately it did not make sense to do so. Franklin acknowledged that Beau needed to make the portal entry now to find the best spot for himself. And then once he enters, they looked at the issues. Beau would need to take time to make trips, this would set a bad precedent, etc. On balance, they decided it was best not to make an exception.
He certainly wouldn't have the "same schools" offering him if he waits, as some/many of them would fill the (or a) QB opening that they have available. He could potentially still find a good home, but he'd definitely be limiting his options to some degree. If you are a legit game changing player....you'll have plenty of options no matter when you hit the portal. I believe Beau would have had the same school's offering him if he had decided to play thru the playoffs....and if had played well even more.
Kinda rooting for him to fail…
lol. How many teams without QB injuries have 3 QBs play? And why don't we have a backup now that has taken any snaps?
Really bad ones looking for a QB to provide a spark.lol. How many teams without QB injuries have 3 QBs play?
It's funny to watch the bots do their feaux outrage. Back in my day......lol.lol. How many teams without QB injuries have 3 QBs play?

Because PSU lost it's backup for a coach that same poster has no faith in. If Drew was bailing for the NFL BP would have stayed more than likely.....PSU again showing utterly how stupid their fan base really is. No guarantee he'll ever make it to the league, he has his degree, and the loyal Saints on this board would pass up that money at 21 to sit another year on the bench. Why? You think passing up that kind of life changing $ at 21 is the better option for him?

But he loses another year of going to The Phyrst! Maybe for 3 million but not 1.5!Because PSU lost it's backup for a coach that same poster has no faith in. Is he now making more than Drew? Will we start seeing hold-outs in "college" FB?But he loses another year of going to The Phyrst! Maybe for 3 million but not 1.5!

Mizzou promised he could date Ruthie from Ozark. No way he was passing that up!!!Experiences > money. And for f*cking Missouri? Could have waited until after the playoffs. Clown.

From personal experience, it’s possible to simultaneously hold these two thoughts in your head:Why? You think passing up that kind of life changing $ at 21 is the better option for him?
