I’m sure I’m misunderstanding this so help a brother out.

”It would be an understatement to say that Mississippi State football has not had the year anyone wanted, but it’s true. Winless in the SEC under head coach Jeff Lebby’s first season, it has been a low point for the program. This came after last season when the program had its best stretch ever (5-7).”

Is espn just espn-ing?

Well, it’s just local Gainesville ESPN radio station. I think it’s either saying last season ended what had been our best stretch ever or they hired a cute girl that doesn’t know anything:

Some profound stuff right there. 🙄

but I think the university should be finding it somewhere, not fans.”
My question is, why should the school fund it, when the whole 'market' of NIL is propped up by boosters who want to win? I'd say 20% of NIL is paid by companies wanting to use these guys to sell stuff. The other 80% is fake NIL.

This is only a problem for schools like MSU, who have only minimally been involved in the business of buying players to win. That's why it feels as if we're playing catch-up. For Ole Miss, this was a huge coup.

Alabama announced a huge NIL for a QB the day NIL was allowed. They just pulled the money out from under the table.
