Shane's "project" is no longer stuck in "failure to launch" mode. He's running better routes and his receiving ability is improving. Pretty soon he'll break one and leave nothing behind but a vapor trail.

That catch he turned upfield was inspired by LaNorris' trucking of the A&M defender last week, was my immediate thought

Nice that we dragged him across the middle to get some catches. However you route him, nobody can stay with him. Good that we got him involved in the offense without just throwing the deep ball.
We absolutely need him to step up. Our WRs have caught 11 passes in two games. He did look good on the play where he ran over a couple guys, but he still is just not a natural WR. He is getting better. Hopefully we get Bennet back this week. If Sellers has 3 options +Rocket out of the backfield, we can be even more dangerous.
I loved seeing the Vandy D-back get aggravated with him at one point after the holding call and try to bow up on him. He got feisty for the first time. He seemed to start ballin after that.

He needs to develop his pre-snap game. He should be on the line of scrimmage telling the DBs that they are too slow to cover him. A couple series of full effort routes would do incredible damage to the DBs mental state of mind.
Blocking better as well in the run game. Legette didn’t start really producing until his sr year. I think he will get better and better.

He probably is like most track stars who won’t be elite receivers, but the fact is we are finding ways to get him involved. If nothing else, you play him one on one with no safety over the top, you could get burned, and we scared A&M with that prospect. This week, we isolated him on linebackers and that didn’t go so well for the defense. I obliviously don’t see what you see. Not saying he will be an all-American WR, but he does have potential. What team have you been watching? Our ability to run will open up deep passes and the passing game in general. Your attitude or, lack of football knowledge is a joke.

He still hasn't realized that he is bigger and faster than everyone else yet. If the light comes on for him, he will be dangerous.
It’s still way too early in his development to know for sure. I don’t see us moving him to defense unless he asks for it.
