I wonder if these guys even know that Cecil said the earliest they would announce would be Saturday. Granted, Cecil could be blowing smoke up everyone's ***, but it sounds like this is just another addition to the endless list of speculation with this guy.
Weren't most of the Auburn folks convinced Newton would "likely" be committing shortly after his official visit? That never happened. I have no reason to believe this is true either until I hear it from the Newtons themselves.
ETA: I wonder if this guy is still under the impression that Newton is going to announce tomorrow as was originally planned? If so, maybe he's just making the assumption, like many of their fans, that the logical choice is AU. Maybe he's just continuing the idea that Newton is committing to AU on NYE.

after Auburn scout's main writer said he thought Newton was coming to MSU earlier this week. Maybe he thinks he can get more people to sign up for his site if he feeds them more BS that they all want to hear. Like I said Lee has been wrong before about Newton so don't worry about it too much.
Newton had to face this stuff last week with the Mullen/UF rumorfiasco, so it is not like this is his first time around the carousel. Sometimes recruiting makes no sense, and this may be one of those instances, but common sense says that Newton and his Daddy tell everyone that they intend to welcome in the New Year with family and that they'll wait and see how the coaching situations settle.
Newton is a qualifier, and he doesn't have to enroll for weeks. This is going to drag out, or it should.
