Bradford lighting it up in the regional too, two multiple hit games. Yeah I'm not too worried about our talent level next year.

Our pitching should be great next year, but the lineup is going to be a huge question mark going into the season because of lack of experience. They may be talented, but lack of experience and lack of games started is always going to bea question mark going into a season where you lose 7 starters in the field. The potential is there, and I'm hoping our pitching staff will alleviate some of the pressure from these young guys and they will go out and play well. But there is no question we should have a solid pitching staff next year.

1B - Norris will probably be an upgrade over Collins with a year of experience under his belt. If Norris plays 3rd, then I hear Rea isn't a bad option here either<div>2B - not sure who we'll have here, but offensively, I have no question they'll be a downgrade from Vickerson</div><div>SS - Henderson will probably be an upgrade over Ogden defensively and offensively. He may not give us as much power, but I think he'll hit for a better average and he's faster.</div><div>3B - We'll definitely lose something here, but Stark (who I think is the favorite for this position) isn't chopped liver.</div><div>C - Bozeman? Todd will probably have to offer help here, but Thigpen isn't the greatest hitter so I think we'll find somebody serviceable offensively... My concern is always defense with a catcher.</div><div>OF - The only concern for me is losing Shepherd. I think Brownlee, Bradford, and Renfroe/Abraham will make a great tandem.</div><div>
</div><div>One thing I've learned about Cohen is the fact that he flat out can coach hitting. Most of these seniors/upperclassmen have gone above and beyond their potential at the plate, but that's just my opinion.</div><div>
</div><div>We'll be ok...</div>

Rea is actually our best defensive first baseman- just trust me on that. I've seen him play, and he is really athletic for his size. Jonathan Holder will get a shot- he had the game winning hit in the 4A-6A All-Star game tonight by the way and went two for four and then picked up the save in relief.

2B- Will probably be Adam Frazier or Demarcus Henderson. I agree as far as a downgrade as far as power, but maybe an upgrade as far as average and defense.

3B- Stark is not the favorite. The coaches see him as an outfielder/relief pitcher. I think it will be Norris, it could be Brayden Jones, and I think Philip Casey has a real shot to win the job as well.

SS- We are trying to sign a JUCO SS- probably someone that can fill any one of three infield spots. As of now, I think it's going to be between Frazier and Henderson.

C- Hunter Renfroe really impressed me behind the plate in the SEC Tournament. I think he will catch at least some. He looks like a MLB catcher. We just signed Nic Amaritti- I think he will play a lot- who was drafted by the Marlins out of high school and he played one year at Seton Hall. He's a catch and throw guy- imagine Wes Thigpen but maybe a little bit better, and then another JUCO catcher named Mitch Slauter is going to be in the mix and could start as well.

OF- Bradford will be better, Stark will play, Brownlee, I think Renfroe will play in the outfield some when he is not catching, Abraham will get a look as well, Tyler Fullerton will also get a look. If I were the coaches, I would look at seeing if Sam Frost could play some outfield as well- mainly for defensive purposes and versatility- but certainly not as a starting outfielder.

Add in Renfroe, who has played, and Henderson has taken a few at bats. Yeah, I'm not worried. 5 of those guys were drafted. Brayden Jones and Wes Rea were highly touted as well. That's a starting lineup right there. Of course there will probably be some surprises, like JUCOs or something. <div>
</div><div>I see a better team next year, but probably not as much 2 out hitting ie things that come with upperclass leadership. We'll blow more folks out though, guaranteed.</div>

Nothing major- like similar to Lasik- he could take a big step up next year.

Wes Rea is a question mark only because of his health. It would be really sad if he can't come back.

Brayden Jones is going to be a Rusty Thoms type player- hard nosed, but I don't expect him to be a super star or anything like that in the SEC. He is more of an intangibles type guy. And you need guys like that on your team.

I didn't know him being available next year was a question. Is there something going on with his injury that hasn't been reported?

They are going to try to get a medical redshirt for him.

He had surgery a month or two ago on his shoulder. Same injury. Same issue. It's just not healing for whatever reason.

The good news is that he is going to play summer baseball in Jackson in the Cotton States League. How he does there will have a large part in determining whether he comes back or not.

He is frustrated with the injury but let's not forget the kid can hit as well as pitch. I think he wants to pitch first but he could come back as a dh or first baseman.

that he is more valuable to us as a first baseman. I did talk to a scout one time who told me that he wanted his team to draft him as a pitcher- so that could very well be his better position.

His power is unreal- he's just very strong. I saw him hit a home run at Trustmark Park that hit the back of the bullpen off of Taylor Stark last year. That's impressive for a high school kid who had a bad shoulder at the time.
