Is JF even in the top 10 of college coaches now for total comp? CFB coaches vs NFL coaches have higher avg comp if you look at the top 20 CFB teams. since many CFB coaches seem to fail in the NFL, it may be more than their coaching skill.

thanks - with all the recent comp changes among CFB coaches, I thought he had fallen out of the top 10. I thought someone reported on this forum that he was like 13th now. the comp for CFB vs NFL has really changed a lot over the last couple decades. is CFB as a sport worth more than the NFL? I always though the NFL was the highest value sport on the planet. Do CFB coaches take a pay cut to go to NFL?

Nope. 2019 is latest reporting year (2020 numbers depressed by pandemic). DoE estimates total revenue of all college sports is $14.4bn. NFL estimate is $15.6bn.

NFL has the money to pay coaches however much. Difference with college is that in the NFL the money comes out of the owners' pockets. Doubt there are any college teams that net what an NFL franchise does.
