Bryce Harper makes $45,000 per plate appearance. Bryce doesn’t outwardly appear to be that out of touch with reality, however, how could you not be in his position? The average yearly salary in the US is $53,500.

These contracts are getting out of hand.

🤔history revisited....

Imperial Rome (31 BC – AD 476)

Rome’s Imperial Period was the last of it's three distinct periods beginning with the rise of Rome’s first emperor in 31 BC and lasting until the fall of Rome in AD 476

So you’re saying we still have a couple hundred years. I’ll take it.

And people give the golfers joining liv grief. Omg!!
Totally different sport and situation.
Other than endorsements, traditionally golfers get paid for performance and winning tournaments. After the tournaments. They don’t make the cut, they don’t get paid. Not with LIV. In LIV, they get most of their money up front win or lose. Just like team sports like baseball. A baseball player signs a contract an$ he gets paid whether he wins or loses.
Other issues with LIV involve taking blood money from the Saudis and loyalty to the PGA.

Pga is a monopoly and liv trying to start up just like the usfl? Etc. and they are vilified.
A better analogy would be the USFL trying to pay big bonuses to NFL players to also play in their league. Guys are free to leave the PGA and join the LIV just as guys can leave the NFL for the USFL. But you can’t be playing both leagues at the same time.

What’s funny about that is that a whole lot of players from us fl working out for nfl right now. Turpin may sign with cowboys.

Because they have a year to year contract with the USFL and are free to go wherever once they are done…notice that no one under contract with an NFL team also left to play in the USFL? You think that if Turpin is playing for the Cowboys, he’ll still be back in the usfl next year?

Had the LIV chosen to play some events in November/December, you wouldn’t have seen nearly the same response from the PGA…but the LIV choose to go head to head in the middle of the schedule. The PGA is doing what they have to do to protect the brand and sponsors.

Is anyone losing money on those teams? Either the money goes to the owners or the players. I'm sure people will argue who deserves it more but I tend to side on those who are doing the work and providing the entertainment. The owners will still get theirs (or they won't pay the money).

That works in the current situation with us fl. Were you around when us fl started and they landed all of the best players back in 1983?. Now it didn’t work after a couple of years but there was a whole lot of worry with the nfl. so like I said let it play out and people will decide.
