Meh. I liked golf better when the world’s #1 golfer was banging Waffle House waitresses and getting beaten by his own golf club wielded by his wife.
With a Nike logo on it.PGA guy on SiriusXM says he has already been released and will be there for his tee time.
It would be epic if he played a hole in the jump suit.
I know that, but It was being related to MSU.Players have reserved parking at the club. Then everything that’s left goes to caddies and title sponsors. TV has a compound where they all park and never is big enough(they do zero carpooling), and we always park on site with our backup gear.
All patrons are bussed in and it is always a total shitshow for pga events. The schemes are always complicated(contraflows, bus only lanes, etc) and people are rarely well versed in what they are supposed to do.
The complicating factor here is the pedestrian being struck and killed and Scheffler likely not knowing that on the way in.
Subject refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging Detective Gillis to the ground. Detective Gillis suffered pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist and knee. He was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment by emergency medical personnel.”
Follow up to my earlier statement, from Sheffler's attorney, "I think the officer that was directing traffic was maybe not part of the event traffic detail so that's where the communication- miscommunication arose and that's why we're here"Oh he'll come out of it fine. It will all be a small misunderstanding blamed on a minimum wage rent a cop directing traffic
Cops are killed all the time in situations just like this. Examples being several years ago in Oxford when a cop was dragged to death, and them getting hit by people that do not move over on the interstate. I do not care about some golf guy at all. If the cop was on his car and he continued to drive for whatever reason he deserves to go to jail because any normal person on this board would go to jail in the same situation.I understand there being a miscommunication about traffic flow with the accident, but when an officer is beside you holding on to your car telling you to stop, and you instead accelerate forward, knocking the cop to the ground, that’s pretty hard to look past.

You can "construct your own stories" all you want but there are cameras rolling now from every angle, you best be accurateAs to the Louisville police statement, I can say that the cops construct their own stories about what went on. There are witnesses about the event. We’ll see if it holds up.
If this dude is a real cop and not “event staff”, I wonder if he had on a body cam.
Pedestrian killed by a shuttle bus… #1 golfer in the world arrested for felony assault on a police officer at the gates of the Championship.
Somebody in the PGA office picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue…
If you consider letting children watch inappropriate movies to be the marker of cool parents, than all parents in the 80’s were cool. I know I was in single digits when I saw it.If you get this reference you're either old or had cool parents.

I'm sure today's parents would yearn for the ability to simply look the other way when Porky's was on HBO, vs what they have to contend with on the internet.
Ah, yes, the struggle to catch unscrambled snippets of soft-core porn on Showtime.no doubt.
That being said, I have no respect for the teenage boys of today. They will never know the struggle of trying to see a boob on scrambled cable.

When you saw one of those big satellite dishes pointing strait up, you knew there was nothing up that high but porn.Ah, yes, the struggle to catch unscrambled snippets of soft-core porn on Showtime.
As someone else said in this thread. I really hope that cop was wearing a body cam. If he wasn’t, I’m guessing this goes away real quick. If he was, this will be entertaining to watch. After the statement put out from the PD, I don’t see how they can back off the charges, unless the camera shows nothing. Also, curious how their rain suit identifies them as cops and not just some other person wearing ho-viz clothing in early AM hours, like he sees at every tournament. Scotty said he didn’t know the person was a cop.I support law enforcement. If he actually did what the officer claims he did, lock him up.
Picture again. He's a 17 year veteran of Louisville PD and owns a "Collision Investigative Service" on the side. His name is Detective Brian Gillis.I can just picture the cop. He’s about 5’5”, maybe 5’6”. He discovered the weight room and steroids in his two years of community college. He has a well groomed porn star mustache. He wears his bulletproof vest while he wacks off. His mom irons his uniform pants.
17 year veteran that didn’t turn on his body camera. Not a good look for the police officer.Picture again. He's a 17 year veteran of Louisville PD and owns a "Collision Investigative Service" on the side. His name is Detective Brian Gillis.
Probably should have had it on, but he's working traffic detail for a bunch of guys driving brand new loaner cars wearing knit pants and shirts at 6:00 a.m. so probably figured it was low priority? No idea what body cam rules are17 year veteran that didn’t turn on his body camera. Not a good look for the police officer.
Mayor: No body cam footage of Scottie Scheffler's arrest, but there will be video
Mayor Craig Greenberg commented Saturday morning on the incident early Friday morning in which No. 1 PGA golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested.www.wlky.com
I think rule #1 is “turn it on”.No idea what body cam rules are
The Attitude Era of the PGAMeh. I liked golf better when the world’s #1 golfer was banging Waffle House waitresses and getting beaten by his own golf club wielded by his wife.
Sounds like you have a lot of emotional hostility towards the sport and its players.Probably should have had it on, but he's working traffic detail for a bunch of guys driving brand new loaner cars wearing knit pants and shirts at 6:00 a.m. so probably figured it was low priority? Sounds like you have a lot of "emotional hostility" towards cops and have tagged him as testosterone filled Captain America" without knowing the guy. Pot, meet kettle.....Sounds like you have a lot of emotional hostility towards the sport and its players.
So let’s clear up a few things for all the meatheads who hate golf.
1. This police officer WAS NOT part of the event police security for traffic flow. He showed up when there was the accident with the pedestrian, which Scottie was unaware of.
2. The normal traffic security was waving Scheffler through. He was doing what he thought was normal procedure. The other players even mentioned they got through fine right ahead of him without any trouble, doing the same thing Scheffler did. This cop, unaware of all the dynamics regarding tournament protocol and players cars, entrance, etc, took it upon himself to change the rules for everyone else at the scene.
3. Scheffler didn’t drag him anywhere. The dude basically jumped on his car. Scheffler, completely unaware of wtf was going on stopped after I few yards. He might have heard him or someone say stop but also the other guys are waving him through so probably confused if that was even directed at him
4. players are usually sent out alerts via texts of any updates regarding tournament changes, weather, etc. Nothing was sent out or if it was, it was after the pedestrian incident so there was no way of knowing that all the cops at the scene wasn’t just standard traffic flow security.
5. I know the cool thing to do in today’s world is to attack the popular guy and “back the small guy.” But Scheffler is about the most genuine, honest and humble person off the course you’ll find. I’ve seen his character first hand when cameras aren’t around so I know who he is. The fact that people want to attack him and his character shows me that there are folks angry the way he lives his life.
6. There’s fault all around. PGA, Event Security, Louisville PD, Gillis, Scheffler. There should be no charges anywhere. Should’ve been resolved at the scene. But hard to resolve it when you have a testosterone, ego filled cop who thinks he’s Captain America and gonna set folks straight. Damage was done after that.
