Apparently the walk was done on the initial slide but once he slid past the bag he was a live runner and able to be tagged again.

Yea. I think it’s kind of bs. If that throw would have gone into the outfield then the runner that overslid 2nd wouldn’t have been able to advance to 3rd as far as I know.
