So I don't know how much they can milk it but then again you can never figure these kind of things out when it comes to Nutt.

Leach was making about what Nutt makes and you can win at Texas Tech easier than you can win at Mississippi.

I was throwing the Ole Miss posters a bone with that statement. You are correct. It would be more like a lateral move.

unfriendly to the football coach than ours and you would have to meet or exceed the expectations that Leach created. It may not be a step down, but its not a good job choice. Bet Cincy and Kansas wish they hadn't hired anyone yet.

Edited to add: Ole Miss 3 vs. TT 2.

I don't know who alls got an opening right now, but I'm sure Leach would just about fall into somebody's laps because of an athletic department who's stupidity rivals Arkansas'. Did Virginia hire anybody yet?

Whoever takes that job will have the leverage to demand complete cooperation from the administration because the administrators know that any more interference from them means their job...not the new coach's. Texas Tech boosters don't want their AD and President to make it impossible to hire good coaches because of their hostility.

Absolutely agree though, I would think Kentucky looks hard at him if Brooks leaves. Of course he could try to make the move to the NFL, probably wouldn't be in a HC position initially but he could probably score an OC job somewhere.

Hell maybe we could take a look at him, let Mullen know he is replaceable.

brings Leach out of retirement and hires him at which point I will no longer donate to the Bulldog Club nor buy tickets.

Maybe it was last year, but this year it definitely was not about money. Kansas was a pawn to try to get things out of Boone, and if you don't believe that, you don't know what type of AD Boone is.

Why? You're saying that if State were to hire Mike Leach, you'd quit supporting MSU?

What's the big problem with winning?

May be some other underlying issues, but with Sexton (and mos of working humans), it's about money. If Boone is the person being portrayed. not sure he would concede under duress.

but any good AD is still going to explore his options, this HCiW title seems to be more of a security policy/retention issue than an actual order of succession.

If I had to chose between those two, I'd make sure Joker knew not to let the door hit his *** on the wait out.
