Yeah they are definitely good. Hopefully it can be a competitive game at least. We aren't playing too bad either at the moment.

I know no one wants a moral victory, but if they play a hard 40 minutes, lose by 6 or something, I can live with that. The team is still growing, its mostly new, lot of injuries, still just Pope's 2nd year. I dont expect Kentucky to win every big/tough road game they have in early February. In March, sure thats what the goal is. But a game like this Florida game is never going to be easy

Florida has a VERY formidable front court, so this might be the perfect opportunity for JQ to give it another go, especially having that mid week “bye” for extra recovery time!

This would be the perfect game for JQ to return, and start getting ramped up for March Madness as well👍🏼

you think the midweek “bye” will really help?

wow, I’m just surprised because I figured if his mid season “bye” since MIZZOU on Jan 7 hasn’t helped, not having a midweek game this week wouldn’t change much…but maybe that’s just me 🙄

Resume wise similar but Florida is hotter currently and a much worse matchup for us. Our bigs have to be top notch because Florida is big and deep in those positions, matchup wise Florida isn’t good for us but that being said this team can beat anyone on any given night.
Florida is a worse match up for us on the inside but they're not a great 3 point shooting team. If we hit our 3's & don't allow a **** ton of offensive rebounds we can win.

It has been mentioned already but this might be a good time to play zone against them. Their guards are poor shooters so let's make them beat us. We need to hold our own on rebounding because the gators sure have a strong front court.

It will be tough sledding but we could do it. Our guys should be mentally prepared for that atmosphere.
They will offensive rebound the **** out of us in a zone imo, hell, they probably will in man to man. Playing zone will keep Fland & Lee out of the paint & force them to shoot 3's so playing zone is definitely something to try if all else fails.

While I think Florida is drifting upward better than Arkansas as far as ceiling goes, both are 17-6 and have comparable wins. Is there really that much difference?
I don’t think there’s a big difference. Arky has an advantage positions 1 & 2. Possible wash on 3. Fl advantage at the 4 & 5. I do think Fl is a little better, but it’s not like there’s a really big difference.
We can compete in this one. Who knows what happens if we hang close in the last 4 minutes.

We will need to play very physical. If we play defense in this one the way we played in the second half vs UT, I think we win this one. That defense was the best I’ve seen us play in several years.

If Aberdeen can just remember the codes to turn off Florida’s deflector shields and then transmit them disguised as the Genesis device control system……

I see both Mareno and Garrison getting into foul trouble…especially at Florida.

Unless UK hits a lot of threes, I see UF wearing UK down for a 12-16 pt victory. But maybe Aberdeen goes off against his old team!

Watching Florida-Georgia, if I were coaching against the Gators Saturday night, I would pack in a 2-3 zone all night and if Fland and Lee can beat us from three, tip of the hat to them

No chance, this Florida team is last year's Alabama team. We know how those games ended.
No. Bama is a guard heavy shooting team. Florida is very front court heavy and the worst three point shooting team in the league.

Pack the paint and force them into shots further from the basket (easier said than done).

If we can stay within 10 pts at Fla we should be good enough to be a sweet 16 team easily . The Gators are on a different level . They are gonna cake walk the entire SEC

Florida has lost to 3 really good teams, but they've also lost to TCU, Missouri, and Auburn. Also they barely beat Florida St.

Georgia looked like us a in a few of our games, started out by missing 20 of their first 25 shots.
Florida, entering the game last in the SEC in 3PT% at 28.8% shot 38% (10/26) from beyond the arc. UGA shot 28% (8/29)
UGA had more OFF REB (13-9), but UF was not missing many shots by comparison (51% FG% by UF vs. 35% by UGA)
Cyril limited to 2 Rebounds vs. Chinyelu's 20 is crazy. BG/MM/Mo D. will need to be physical AF! REB advantage to UF (42 vs. 35)
All in all, a bad overall game by Georgia and an above average backcourt game by Florida.
We can beat the Gators if we play physical, hustle, stop missing shots in the paint, and have a decent game from our backcourt.

We have no one for Haugh. If Florida makes outside shots, could get bad. I have hope in Pope to figure out something, but the matchup is horrendous. Our biggest weakness is the 3/4 and that’s where they are strongest.
Last offseason I was really hoping Haugh entered the portal and we could go after him. He’s a good one for sure, but I feel like both Chandler and Oweh “can” guard him (this is a game where having Williams could have been particularly helpful too). And, of course, the remaining FL frontcourt is going to be tough to match up with. But I think UK could have a real advantage at the Guard spots physically. Trying to think of a scenario where UK could pull off the upset (again), maybe it could be Aberdeen and Oweh physically dominating FL’s Guards. Yes, the FL frontcourt backstops the ability to beat up their Guards in the paint. . . but I need something to hang some hope on.

If we win I think it will have to be in a shootout. Score in the 90s, and in order to do that we need to make 3s. Shoot well, keep Haugh in check and don’t get out rebounded too bad and we might come away with a W. 97-91 Cats!

I would like to play them with JQ and and Lowe, and Williams, then it would be a game like it was supposed to be. We are down 2 starters and another of our top 7 players. If it were the same for them, it would be like them without Fland and Rueben and then one more of their top 8. It is what it is but Kentucky not having their complete team two years in a row really sucks and put us at a disadvantage no other team in the SEC is dealing with. The last two years teams haven’t had to deal with a healthy Kentucky team that has final four capabilities. I’m very proud of what we have done with the teams we have had and have now.

I think this game might be a lot closer than people assume. Florida is a really good team right now, but it just feels like a game that we might have a chance at the end.

Auburn played a tight 2-3 zone, absolutely dared Florida to beat them from the 3

Literally had 5 defenders in paint

Won 78-69 in Gainesville on Jan 24
