They still have boosters! Boosters matter more when it comes to recruiting.

Other big schools have boosters with money as well but they have a coach who can go in and talk to them. Signing day is fast approaching and LSU still has no coach.

If receiving yards are all that matter, look at it this way. All I'm saying in the original post is a bunch of short catches doesn't excite a young highly rated receiver which OP was wondering why we don't have many highly rated ones committed. Look at the numbers below, if those guys had Makai's number of receptions, look how theoretically (not apples to apples I realize) more yards they would have with same number of receptions he has now:

If Jameson Williams had the same number of receptions as Polk and his own same avg he would have 564 more yards than he does now.
If Treylon Burks had same number of receptions as Polk and his own same average he would have 437 more yards than he does now.
If Cedric Tillman had same number of receptions as Polk and his own same average he would have 520 more yards than he does now.

That's great if you are the #1 guy..... Now do the number 6-10 WR's at each school. At MSU, you'll get a chance to catch 30+passes a year. What can you do after the catch to make more yards?

FYI our #10 pass catcher is Rara Thomas with 16. Bama's is Roydale Williams with 5. Bama's #3 WR Slade Bolden has 23 catches... Same number as Calvin for us, good for 7th place.

If you want to catch passes, you play in the air raid.

We have 8 receivers in the top 50 in receiving yards in the SEC
