If receiving yards are all that matter, look at it this way. All I'm saying in the original post is a bunch of short catches doesn't excite a young highly rated receiver which OP was wondering why we don't have many highly rated ones committed. Look at the numbers below, if those guys had Makai's number of receptions, look how theoretically (not apples to apples I realize) more yards they would have with same number of receptions he has now:
If Jameson Williams had the same number of receptions as Polk and his own same avg he would have 564 more yards than he does now.
If Treylon Burks had same number of receptions as Polk and his own same average he would have 437 more yards than he does now.
If Cedric Tillman had same number of receptions as Polk and his own same average he would have 520 more yards than he does now.
