My first thought/question as well. As you say, doesn't make it better or worse but I'm struck by the number of times these type things come back to something else going on versus something by a random stranger. Random certainly happens but seems almost the exception these days. Certainly understand the fear of not wanting to be the exception though.
Always think back to Adam Walsh as a tipping point in modern day parenting and the shift from "how we grew up/allowed to do". Big story, BIG exception. Our daughter was 2 (I was frequently in Sears) and can't say the "fear bug" wasn't firmly planted in my head at the time.

Like stats for how many people were trafficked into the US over the last 10 years or 20 years? Thatd of course then be adjusted for population growth too, since the US population has increased in the last 20 years.

I would think this sort of issue would be best to look at from a longer time period perspective since short term numbers can change wildly and not be tied to a policy change.

I am curious to know what numbers you have that show exponential increases in child sex slavery due to a change in border policy.
Pew did a comprehensive border crossing report that showed migrant encounters in '21 were basically the same total amount as in 2000 and as in 1987, for what that is worth.




- I dislike how we as a country have handled border crossings for the last 15 years, so I am not defending Biden.
- I have not seen actual data that shows human trafficking or child sex slavery is exponentially up...or that it is even up at all. I think that is because it is so difficult to put a number to something that isnt known until people are found/caught. How can anyone confidently know a number that isnt measured because it isnt known?
- Prosecutions of traffickers could show a trend related to your claim, but that could also show different trends.

A few years ago at a men’s breakfast we had a couple of women who had overcome a lot in life come speak to us. Also a metro Nashville police detective. Trafficking humans is a coast to coast operation and Nashville is a natural hub. Whenever we have big events they do sting operations. What I took away from the thing is that Belle Meade ( if you know Nashville ) puts a high demand on trafficked women. Lots of customers in/around Green Hills & 21st ave over to Belmont/ Hillsboro as well.

I wouldnt ever claim the government is supporting human trafficking because they reduced how frequently they go into other countries to hunt down traffickers. To believe that would mean any time there are fewer instances of going into other countries to hunt down traffickers, the government is 'supporting trafficking'.
And it is difficult to see someone claim the entire Entertainment industry as a whole supports trafficking and child sex slavery, just because there are some rumors of some specific people. It is especially unfortunate since the last 5 years has been full of straight up fictitious internet created conspiracies that tie entertainers and politicians to disgusting acts that are difficult to even imagine, much less actually do.

There are definitely some 17ed up people in Entertainment, and it is good for them to be caught, prosecuted, and fall out of favor. To claim it is so widespread that an entire industry supports sex trafficking is baseless and irresponsible.

Killed 1 in the woods, 6 year old was found in the car stolen. Just off Terry Road at what does appear to be a known traffic location with cages.

In 2022 I was "fortunate" enough to serve on the Hinds County grand jury for 7 months. Typical 1-2 days a month with a hand-full of days added in for special cases. At this time I was going through a rough time with my daughter which really frightened me when I learned how large and how connected the Human Trafficking scene is in MS. In general typically theses cases were brought to us by MBI and covered multiple counties and states. One juror asked a question about an 18 year old girl from Yazoo County that took them a few months to recover on why it took so long. The answer was they located her multiple times and each time they arrived on the scene she had been relocated (ie, the traffickers/drug dealers) were tipped off by someone from inside the police force. This particular girl was moved in between Yazoo/Hinds/Madison and Rankin counties. We heard numerous cases during my time that resembled this and several women were trafficked from out of state. They found one lady that was trafficked to Hinds county from Buffalo, NY

This is a hard topic, especially in our "love and kindness and acceptance above all else" society... but God is not opposed to the death penalty when justified. In fact, he ordered kings and judges to carry it out in certain cases. He's a huge fan of Justice, as I understand it.

We need justice to be served in cases like this.
