Yes, but there may come a time where a person seriously needs help. More and more, staying sane in our present world seems to be an accomplishment.

I have a very close friend, very successful, very well educated, brilliant family, seemingly has it all, who has the most self-destructive hoarding compulsion that you can imagine. It’s going to end very poorly for him, I’m afraid. He won’t accept help, therefore by some definition he’s not needy. I wish he were more needy, reached out for help.
