I don't know how they do playoff seeding for the high school playoffs in South Carolina, but up here in Virginia, it makes no sense

They have a points system that no one can explain and no one knows who determines the points.

I was discussing this earlier with some former teammates of mine, my old high school finished the regular season 10-0, which was only good enough for the #2 seed in their playoff bracket. The #1 seed in that same bracket was 9-1 during the season, so you could potentially have us at 12-0 visiting them at 11-1 in the regional final. In what universe does it make sense to have an undefeated team visit a one loss team in any round of the playoffs in any state?

I also saw where the team we beat in our season finale finished 3-7 on the season but still got a spot in another playoff bracket, what the h€££ is a 3-7 team doing in the playoffs?

In SC every team makes the playoffs. So round 1 is a bunch of 9-1 or 10-0 teams beating 1-9 or 0-10 teams by 50. It's asinine.

Not all teams but almost all teams. It's ludicrous. Playoffs are a bonanza for the SCHSL. They get a big cut of the all the gates. The greater the number of games, the more the money they get. But the mismatches are terrible.

There is no way a team that has a losing record well below .500(I'm talking 2 or more games) should ever make the playoffs, that includes the NFL. Drove me up the wall to see 7-9 teams hosting playoff games just because they won their division. If every division has to be in then reseed it by record and put the 7-9 team in the last spot. Better yet have a provision stating that if a division can't produce a team that is in the top 7 of their conference then that division forgoes their right to have a team represent them in the playoffs. Same at the high school level if you have to let 3-7, 2-8, 1-9, in then you have too many spots in the bracket. Come playoff time, it's Quality not Quantity.
