Being a Bama fan = being a dick.

Apparently, we were suppose to toss thatTD pass then walk off the field in shame for being in overtime with LaTech.

Edit to add: Set off by the multitude of my Bama facebook "friends" who were born, raised, and currently live and work in the great state of Mississippi. I will be defriending some folks this morning.

It was a terrible win, if there is such a thing. I am glad we won the game but I did think the celebration at the end was a little out of place. $+$#%$$ La Tech made us look like **** in Starkville and we were lucky to get away with a win.

Cannot say I completely disagree with the Bama fan you are speaking of.

as a fan, I was disgusted but if I was on the field and played - I would have been celebrating like a fool.

And even though we sucked last night, we still won in an exciting fashion. Did you not cheer when we scored? I did.

I just found the celebration and some of Mullen's comments after the game out of place, that is all.

On one hand, I was thrilled we finally won a close game. We seem to be able to keep it close until the end of the game and then are not able to punch it in. We were able to punch it in last night and I think that is huge.

I speaking strictly as a fan, that game was an embarrassment. Our offensive play and play calling was terrible. Our defense was even worse than that.

Just think I am talking about my disappointment with the team and really with Mullen. After our first 4 games, it is painfully obvious that Mullen is still very green and that we are in need of not only better quality athletes, but better quality coaches and coordinators.

Just being honest but I thought we were much farther along with our program than we actually are. Just my opinion.

I agree with this. I didn't cheer though I just sat there as something that was expected to happen, happened. Alabama is gonna work a number on us.

...a couple of years ago. Took a blocked FG attempt on the last play of the game to beat a bad Tenn team at home.

and get your *** to the dressing room for a staff/team prayer meeting about getting this damn thing fixed. I.E. Act like you`ve been there (whether you have or not) and show some poise. We acted like we had just ended a 25 game losing streak.

I said after the LSU game that we needed to be prepared for two more ugly losses. Bama and Arky. Blowing LaTech out by 4 TDs wouldn't change that. So your last blurb is irrelevant...

The fact is, I have no issue with booing the umpteenth 3 and out, but im going to cheer like hell (**gasp**) when we dominate an overtime like that.

I was expecting a little more disappointment in his voice with our play and especially his coaching. He always says the other coaches in a round about way need to do a better job and I thought he didn't do a good job last night. He actually said last night was a "great win" and one we will remember. I guess I expected something else in his remarks but he was totally positive. To me, last night wasn't a positive performance.

But on the field - in the heat of the moment - you celebrate especially as a player. I have no problem with what we did.

Let me add one final thing - Mullen did make a good point in the postgame that he thought we practiced timid all week. He said the expectations the team put on themselves for this season were high and he thinks we played timid due to us losing the last two. I really didn't feel like we played aggressive at all. Hopefully, this game will give the team back some confidence and they can play better next week. A win cures a lot of ills.

anytime Bama beats Tennessee, it's a big deal to me and most Bammers.<div>
</div><div>that game is bigger than my birthday, Christmas, New's Year's and Tet, all rolled into one.</div><div>
</div><div>I was at that game and after the 2nd FG block it was like being inside a jet engine.</div><div>
</div><div>God, I hate Tennessee.</div>

They earned their right to celebrate for winning a game that was as close as that one was. I don't care if it was against a ****** team, I'd expect them as players to celebrate excessively because winning in a fashion like that is a huge sigh of relief on top of it being a win.<div>
</div><div>On topic of Mullen, I found his comments odd especially considering what he has been known to say before, but I don't care too much about that because I'd be willing to bet a lot of that I own that he's currently getting into everybody's asses right now and convincing them that a performance like last night will be unacceptable if we want to make any type of noise in our conference and even more so our players know damn well that they're much better than what they displayed too.</div><div>
</div><div>How they acted immediately after the game matters not to me. It's how the contemplate what just happened these next few days that really matters, and I'm almost absolutely positive they're taking this outcome worse than any of us are right now.</div>

It was either the 3rd or 4th game of the 1999 season. A last second hail mary beat an Alabama team that would go on to win the SEC championship.

Sorry I couldn't remember specifically what you had said out of everyone else on the board. I'll try better next time.

What MSU did after the game is another topic. What is the topic of this thread is Mississippi people who never went to college, much less Alabama, who run off at the mouth roll tiding.

I can't stand them either brother. I have defreinded a number myself too. 17 u trailer trash Mississippi Crimson Necks. Hook your trailer up to the back of your Trans Am and get the 17 out.

It always pissed me off when coworkers would pull for bama over Mississippi schools when they had no ties with them. I guess it's just easier to pull for a winner. Maybe I should try it, probably wouldn't need as much beer.

We just won a game in OT on a TD pass from a QB that has been struggling. Football is an emotional game, and we found a way to win. There's no way we could have NOT celebrated that TD, and that win, and honestly, if we had "acted like we had been there before"- which is news to me since Croom and Jackie would have lost last night, so maybe we haven't been there before- that would have been really classless of our team to me.

Not celebrating a win would have been us being arrogant and showing our ***. I guarantee you that Alabama would have celebrated as well.

As far as the fans celebrating- yes, I cheered as did the entire stadium. I've seen us beat SEC teams before, and the celebration from the fans was not exactly what I would call "celebrating like we beat a top 10 team". It was celebrating like we won a football game. I know I did not act like we had beaten a top 10 team. That usually entails making out with some random girl that I met at the game or hugging a Gator Bowl official. None of which happened last night.

Maybe that shows how far our program has come atmosphere wise- now it "sounds like" we are beating top 10 teams when we win.

A lot of these people are saying our celebration was over zealous. Our players nor our fans acted anything like when we beat Florida in the Swamp last year or when we beat Alabama in 07. We acted like we were happy to win a close game. A lot of you people are getting bent out of shape over some dumb ****.

I'm going to celebrate!

Yes the game was ugly, but we found a way to win!
I've seen may other good teams have a close call, and move on....with a W.
