Offers and extensions, etc. are not made on the basis of one game....even if it's your rival. Decisions like that are made for performance of a season or multiple seasons. Kiffen has proven his worth to them since he's been hired. IMO, he's a good coach. It's easy to see why they want to try and keep him. We have posters here who want to fire Leach if he had lost tonight making it his third loss in a row to OM. A decision like that would not be made for this reason either. You have to look at the whole body of work and see if a trend of improvement is obvious. Plus, there are many other factors involved in coaching decisions. Fans who think otherwise are just misinformed.
