I like when coaches tell it like it is!

Both of you are arguing semantics.

I agreenwith the earlier statement, that win didn't bring joy as much as it brought relief.

But then you're arguing about different levels of happiness. Hardly worthy of getting worked up over, imo.
Yeah, well...you're wrong.

Dabo Swinney used this exact strategy to help build a national championship caliber team. He didn't care who the opponent was, or what the score was. After the game, they danced! And yeah, I made fun of him. Then they started winning NCs. I'd rather play for a guy that doesn't miss an opportunity celebrate.

Oh, interesting, one of the chief Dabo haters has ben reduced to holding Dabo as the example to emulate.

Whatever Dabo is doing is working. He didn't do it on the back of 100 years of elite history. He didn't do it on the back of other coaches before him. I respect that. I thought he was clown, and that schtick would never work. But I'll be damned if it didn't. Shane could be wearing a pink tutu doing ballet for 60 minutes as long as he's competing for NCs. If that's the goal, he's got a pretty good example to emulate 90 minutes away.

Look, that celebrating comment wasn't for me. It wasn't for you. It wasn't for the X troll accounts that are just looking for chum in the water. It was for the players and recruits. That's what guys want to do now. Get in the locker room and party. You don't have to like it. But that's just what happens now.

This presser was effectively the end of the HBC era. We were 3-1 with a W over #6 UGA with 3 very winnable games coming up against Mizzou, UK, and Furman. From the point of this presser until he quit on us mid season the next year, he went 2-9 in P5 games. Mike Davis, one of the greatest RBs we've ever had here, had a take I think some should take to heart. Our opinions of the HCs comments don't mean a hill of beans. But they do to the guys in the locker room.

Saturday was a win that kind of felt like a loss. Back when I played we would have been celebrating not having to run the bleachers for a solid hour if we had lost. Come to think of it, we might have run them anyway for the way we played. 🙂
