Our administration and coaching staff are telling the fanbase that football isn't a top priority and we should accept failure. I wish the entire fanbase would boycott football games next year. What a complete failure.
I mean I'm not going to stop going to games over it, but I'll just be aware that Lebby's on the two-year plan like JoMo.Could be nothing, could be bitching online, could be not giving any more $$$.
Just curious how serious everyone is about it.
I checked out last year. I watch games and try to make 1-2 in person, but with kids getting older and having no interest in attending MSU, I don't have much going anyway. Sad to see the university we love in the way it is.Could be nothing, could be bitching online, could be not giving any more $$$.

This is basically my feelings. How plastic man has handled football along with his AD pick has completely dismantled our football program while he is off wining and dining with the CFP committeeMy response is Mississippi State has fully embraced "failure at football" and it lets me know the administration is perfectly ok with it. Why care about Mississippi State Football anymore? There's not a legitimate enough reason to justify caring about it anymore.
Been there. My freshman year, 1971. Vanderbilt skull dragged us to a tune of 10 - 49 at DWS. Vandy was 4-6-1 that year. To me that year Vandy was a powerhouse. We have come full circle.Raise your hand if you've never seriously considered asking yourself this question about the state or condition of the football program at MSU:
"Is this what it feels like to be a Vanderbilt fan?"
That's where I am at the moment.
Like I said in the thread I started a couple of days ago, I won't be renewing my tickets, and I'm not giving anymore money if he's retained. It will be just another in a long line of indicators that we're not serious about football and that the leadership is incompetent and doesn't care to do anything to make our plight any better.Could be nothing, could be bitching online, could be not giving any more $$$.

That's my thing. What are they doing with the money they have now? Doesn't look like it was used wisely and I don't trust them with decisions being made the way they are all the way to the topI care for two ninety-year old parents who are falling apart. Going to games is a relief from the difficult situation, but this year was a nightmare of arranging sitters or siblings. When I got to the games I was shock at how the “worthy opponents “ ran thru us so easily. Now, the BC just asked me for $2000 for “excellence”. I have to think about this opportunity to support the school. Right now, I am not inclined to give anything to the sh*t show my school put on the field.
Lebby isn't impressing me much more than Hutzler. Hutzler is just a symptom of the problem.I Lebby believes in him I will too but Lebby is will be forever tied to Hutzler. So if Hutzlet continues to fail so has Lebby. Their fates are tied.
Training wheels, indeed. That was a good analogy. We've got us a greenhorn coach and a greenhorn AD, neither of which has a 17n clue what to do.Lebby isn't impressing me much more than Hutzler. Hutzler is just a symptom of the problem.
It's not the money. It's the head coach and his loyalty. As others have said up this thread - he's now adopted Hutz, so Lebby has made them a package deal next year. There’s no way a $2 million buyout can be an obstacle here. No way.

Lebzler? Hubby? We need to workshop names for the dynamic duo because their fate is knotted together at this point.
Ole Miss was there 5 years ago. It's just unfortunately our time in the shitstorm which came at the worst time possible. There's so much change happening in college football - you don't want to suck.Nothingness. I have no feelings for MSU football any more. Pay some attention to basketball, but not much. Baseball is the only MSU sport I'm involved with or care about. Just that time I have accepted our lot in SEC football. We are the win-feeders for the other SEC teams. We only exist to pad their records.
I defer to you, O Great Nomenclator. You are like sixpacks peak's upscale version of Bluto in Animal House.Lutz.
Our whole AD office involving football appears to be amateur hourTraining wheels, indeed. That was a good analogy. We've got us a greenhorn coach and a greenhorn AD, neither of which has a 17n clue what to do.
Self inflicted by our president s d AD if you ask me. If any time begged for experienced AD and experienced coach it was right now but Keenum either too dumb, emotionally blinded, or too busy with CFP commitments that he didn't see a clear path when he needed to and the Selmon didn't understand the assignment. Brings in Lebby who was a good OC but then had no clue couldn't convince players nor position coaches to join him like Moorhead or Mullen. Then went no experience for DC. Just self inflicted all around.Ole Miss was there 5 years ago. It's just unfortunately our time in the shitstorm which came at the worst time possible. Let’s be honest, firing Hutzler would be the absolute, bare bones minimum that fans of any half reputable football program should expect after this past season. Doing that and bringing in an actual proven DC might move the anticipation needle a hair, but again… we’re talking bare minimum expectations
If we seriously can’t or won’t even do that, it puts the nail in the coffin as far as my view of our athletic administration. They’ve got incredibly difficult jobs, and I don’t blame Selmon or Lebby for every mistake. I sure as hell expect them to own and fix the bad ones, though. If they don’t have the wherewithal to do this or you know, actually perform their jobs as leaders… I will not give a dime towards Stste football until they’re all gone. All of them

don't wish for that, if things don't change they would smoke us.Do y'all need an SEC opponent next season??
At this point I just assume Keenum (and everyone else in charge) are just a bunch of idiots. It's probably why Jans tried so hard to get away after last season. To answer the question though, I'll just save my money. If they don't care, why should I care?
Similar for me. Except I am going to hate every program that hired a new coach this past year and had enough success to build on for next year!Unless there is a remarkable portal class I’m pretty much emotionally numb from the start. What sucks is I won’t be able to hate on Will next year either so I guess I’ll just hate on Ole Miss, Texas, ND, and Colorado.
