If they play like they did against UNC, you could have Carl Lewis back there and he woukd struggle.play Sellers since he has speed to get out of trouble?

Putting Sellers in to a horrible situation would do more harm than good. If Rattler is getting killed, Sellers is going to get killed worse. In my opinion, no. For one, if the OL is so bad that we're forced to play Sellers, then it's a lost cause.
For another, there was a good breakdown of the OL's performance against UNC and it noted that Rattler escaped numerous other would-be sacks due to his awareness in the pocket. Most of the sacks could not have been avoided. A mobile QB is not a solution to the OL problems. If all we're looking for is a QB who can run away from pressure, that's a dismal sign.
I'm as high on Sellers as anyone, but I am aware that what we have seen of him has been very limited action against an FCS team late in a blowout game.
That aside, Rattler has so many other intangibles that only come with experience. He's played on the biggest stages in front of the biggest crowds. He's got great pocket awareness and presence. He lacks some in mobility but for the mobility you get in Sellers, you lose those intangibles.
Agree. If the pressure was impacting Ratt's performance, maybe. But he didn't seem to be fazed by it.In my opinion, no. For one, if the OL is so bad that we're forced to play Sellers, then it's a lost cause.

The odds of Sellers going into the game at some point is pretty high. Would you rather see him while it's still a game or a cleanup effort at the end when UGA is teeing off? Also, because of the portal situation, we could lose him to NIL bluebloods at any moment in time. There's no reason to coddle freshmen anymore.Putting Sellers in to a horrible situation would do more harm than good. If Rattler is getting killed, Sellers is going to get killed worse.
Everyone knows we're outmanned in this one by a mile. The only thing I don't want to see from Loggins is traditional play calling all day long. He'll have more of the spotlight when we're playing the rest of the schedule. This is Loggains' problem now. Heading into the first game you could make the argument that he didn't know how bad the OL would be until you turned the lights on. Well, now you know. So how are you going to scheme and design your gameplan around it? THAT'S the key. He gets paid a lot of money to be able to do this. He's either going to prove he's worth it or not. And I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be proven out this week, but just in general. He's either going to deal with it or not.
Why's that? He's likely going to get minutes either way. If Rattler can't do anything for the first few series and we find ourselves down 14++ in the first half, why wouldn't you give him a shot to mix it up?
Exactly. I'm hoping Beamer learned this last year. We were outmanned against UT as well. We threw out all conventional wisdom and it was chaotic bliss. The same has to happen here. I don't want to see 25 rushing attempts for 13 yards just for the sake of being balanced. We've literally got nothing to lose here, UGA has everything to lose. We need to play to that.Everyone knows we're outmanned in this one by a mile. The only thing I don't want to see from Loggins is traditional play calling all day long. He'll have more of the spotlight when we're playing the rest of the schedule.
UGA's pressure is likely going to be exponentially more than what we saw from UNC. We can't be concerned about Sellers getting hurt anymore than Rattler getting hurt. Sellers is also a much larger guy.Rattler has been pretty darn effective even with the pressure he's been getting. However, allowing Sellers some playing time in this type of environment would certainly pay dividends in his development. Just don't want to get him hurt.
Gettings TO's for short field drives would certainly be helpful in getting some TD's, although we need some long drives to eat some clock. Also, if we a have a bend but don't break defense that limits GA to FG's but also eats clock, that would give us a chance as well.
Just not my style. Others may have different opinions and that's fine. Why's that? He's likely going to get minutes either way. If Rattler can't do anything for the first few series and we find ourselves down 14++ in the first half, why wouldn't you give him a shot to mix it up?
I just can't dream up a reason why not. If Sellers ends up being a stud, a team like A&M is going to hand him $10mil to play for them. We might as well use him while we can if the scenario permits. A different era with the NIL and portal.Just not my style. Others may have different opinions and that's fine.
Absolutely. Our best shot of anything is in the first half. UGA hasn't played anyone yet and that could work to our advantage. UGA's depth and talent on both lines is likely to assert itself in the 2nd half. IF we were able to jump on them early and get them a bit uncomfortable in the first 30 minutes, it might leave them a little uncertain going into the locker room.
However, if UGA fires out of the gate and we find ourselves down couple of scores and our offense is inept -- why not? Sellers is a far bigger QB than Rattler. It might give UGA's defense something to think about if he can break a run or two and open up the pass game.
Sellers knows he's playing the cream of the crop. I don't think his confidence takes a hit if he's unsuccessful in this one. Rattler is making millions and on his last year so there's no ego to consider. Do what you have to do to compete in this game if you can. We're not very talented at RB even with a good line. It's run by committee in this one.
If we don't have a plan for all out pressure and some offensive weapon to make them back off or wish they had, I'll be deeply disappointed in Loggains.UGA's pressure is likely going to be exponentially more than what we saw from UNC. We can't be concerned about Sellers getting hurt anymore than Rattler getting hurt. Sellers is also a much larger guy.
These games are rare and what we wait all year for. UGA is expecting to line up and cram it down our throat. There's no reason to manage our way to the Belk Bowl. Try to surprise them and leave no stone unturned.

We're going to need a run/pass threat to have any chance. Doty doesn't really fit that bill but we'll see.Well, for one thing, until further notice, Doty is still the backup.
For another, I know we're all excited about Sellers, but we need to pump the brakes just a tad. He has a handful of snaps against an FCS team, at home, in the 4th quarter of a blowout win. One reason he was able evade pressure on the long TD is that there was a blatant hold by Fugar (thanks to @KingWard for pointing that out). That said, Sellers ain't seen nothing like UGA in his life. And they won't be rattled by a QB change one bit.
Whatever slim chance we have in this one, Rattler is our best hope. You don't pull him until the game is out of hand or unless he's playing like garbage. Then I'd let Doty eat some snaps and protect Rattler's health.
There's just way more risk than reward to putting Sellers in this one. It's just not worth it for a game you're not going to win.
We're all about to find out about our OC. What a huge statement it would make if we came out on fire. You can see his impact on Ratt as a QB coach. If he can carefully craft an effective offense against the D, with the deficiencies at OL/RB, that would be a massive step forward in changing the narrative about him.I still don't know much about Loggain's abilities as OC, but the best plan in the world is ultimately limited by talent. Our OL was routinely retreating 5 yards or more against UNC.
Our best hope is probably trying to burn UGA early with quick, short or intermediate throws. But that brings our WR into question. So far it's Legette and...? Wells has been a non-factor through 2 games.
Their DBs are dynamic. We know Muschamp is going to bring the heat all day and our QB(s) are going to be under siege. It's hard to gameplan for this gap in talent. We have to use the element of surprise to have any chance whatsoever. If we don't have a plan for all out pressure and some offensive weapon to make them back off or wish they had, I'll be deeply disappointed in Loggains.
If Rattler can't do anything it's not gonna be his fault...probably gonna be the Oline. Sellers won't fair any better and could potentially harm his confidence. I do think he'll get in the game...but it's not gonna be because Rattler can't do anything. Why's that? He's likely going to get minutes either way. No doubt. My point is why not throw in a wild card? Sellers will likely see playing time. I'd rather have him put in the game if Rattler needs to clear his head versus some cleanup job in the 4th.If Rattler can't do anything it's not gonna be his fault...probably gonna be the Oline. The element of surprise would be a plan with some preparation thrown in for execution. Hope DLogg has one is all I'm saying. I would. We can't wait until we are down three touchdowns though.play Sellers since he has speed to get out of trouble?
