No. Bruce did not say anything political on wed night. No one answered my question. Yes or no.
Saw Springsteen years ago in Philly in the Born in the USA Tour. He was great and his music is fine. I guess I am a dinosaur but I agree with a country western artist I heard a few years back who said he doesn’t inject politics into his concerts because fans pay good money because they want to hear my music not my political views. I think that should be the norm for all musicians regardless of their political views but maybe that’s just me.Why do you care? Do you even like Springsteen? Genuinely curious.
I had hoped we could get through this great and insightful thread without someone trying to stir it up. Out of respect for Tom, the OP, and the thread itself that's all I'll say.Did you get the political lecture bonus or has he stopped that?
Honestly, it’s pointless. I don’t know anybody that has ever gone to a Springsteen concert hoping to hear his political stance. It’s really boring.Saw Springsteen years ago in Philly in the Born in the USA Tour. He was great and his music is fine. Right over your head. Zoom.Honestly, it’s pointless. I don’t know anybody that has ever gone to a Springsteen concert hoping to hear his political stance. It’s really boring.
Given all the provocative and frequently politically charged threads and posts I have seen on this board, you are complaining about this? Really? WOW!I had hoped we could get through this great and insightful thread without someone trying to stir it up. Out of respect for Tom, the OP, and the thread itself that's all I'll say.
Nice. Lol.Enough of the politics. Did he mention anything about donating to HVU?
As long as you have rock and roll in your heart, it will never die. When all the best rockers are over 60- and they are- can we still say that rock and roll will never die?

Really? What did I miss? Fill me in.Right over your head. Zoom.
Many on the board were pleased to keep this specific thread free of being one of "the provocative and frequently politically charged threads". It was about the music, and the OP and every poster until you understood that. Notice that you didn't get the volley of political Springsteen criticism you were fishing for. In that context "almost no one took your bait".Given all the provocative and frequently politically charged threads and posts I have seen on this board, you are complaining about this? Really? WOW!
Many friends there, all echo you thoughts. Always a great show. HE’s not at the top of my list but I’ve seen him twice. Great show and mad respect for his song writing and crafting. Glad you enjoyed it!Tonight, I missed watching the Phillies game, but I was at their stadium (Citizens Bank Park) to take in a performance by Bruce Springsteen, and the E Street Band.
I've written before on BWI's boards about Bruce. While I have several friends that have been to over 100 Bruce concerts, I've never been somebody that does that. I first saw him in 1974 or 1975 (I forget which one), and have seen him periodically (around 20 times) over the years.
Tonight's concert was rescheduled from last August, when Bruce developed an ulcer issue, and had to cancel a number of concerts (including Philadelphia). It was well worth the wait.
I've never been to a concert by Bruce that wasn't enjoyable. Perhaps my memory is getting a little fuzzy about what the concerts I attended in the 70s and 80s were like; I can't say. However, tonight's concert probably was the most entertaining Bruce concert I've ever attended. He's 74-years-old, and he doesn't jump around the stage the way he use to. But his energy level is still off the charts. He played 30 songs, over somewhere between 3 hrs. - 3 hrs: 5 min.
I don't know how much longer he'll be with us, or be able to play at this level. If you enjoy his music, and have the opportunity to attend a concert of his, I would highly recommend it.
