If you had a choice, which would you take. Leach or Mullen?

I think I would take Mullen. I think his spread style which incorporates the run is better suited for the SEC, and he's a little younger, which I think might appeal to recruits more.

I hear that Dans Mullens curses in front of his players. That's just insane. And that evil Mike Leach put kids in dark rooms. The mistreatment of these college athletes is getting out of hand. /genespage

I'd have to say Leach b/c he is a proven head coach and what he's done in the Big 12 South is pretty impressive while Mullen on the other hand has never been a head coach we were buying into what his potential could be.

However, if I had to decide today I'm going to stick with Mullen, I think we're only beginning to see how high his ceiling could be.

Not trying to pick a fight here, but Mike Leach's Big 12 South resume looks like David Cutcliffe's, Ed Orgeron, and Sly Croom's combined.

Yes, he's turned them into a competitor, but his Big 12 South resume only boasts a tie for 2nd in the South... he's never played in the Big 12 Championship game.

That man can coach a passing game... but on defense, he's clueless.

I agree about his defense but the guy has never had a losing season and has been to 10 straight bowls (counting this year), and plays in a very difficult division. That's one hell of a resume, especially when you compare it to Mullen's who wasn't proven at anything last year when we hired him, other than being an assistant coach.

Also, comparing what Leach has done with what 3 coaches at two different schools have done over the same period is a really bad comparison and at the least a huge stretch.

My point being last year at this time I wouldn't even have thought twice about hiring Leach over Mullen, now after seeing Mullen I perfer him.

he's 84-43 (47-33). That is a really good record at Texas Tech. You do realize they are in the same division with OU and UT (which are the only two teams to represent the South in the past 10 years.)

He reminds me of that guy in my church was always a little off that everyone called Peanut. Just doesn't seem right.

that Mike Leach looks like anything other than Vince Gill, is beyond me.

I would take Mullen for sure. He knows the SEC, he has been a part of a couple of NC's, has a good reputation of developing QB's, and was every bit as good as an OC as Leach, if not better.
