Why do you say so? Should he not have a better handle on his locker room and players. Might not be totally fair, but might get Penn State out from under an incredibly burdensome contract bestowed on a proven under achiever?
Also get PSU "out from under" all the blue chip recruits from 22 and 23..........

Plenty of blue chip recruits took the field the last two years @ PSU…result: 11-11. Verdict: Massive underachievement.
And now Penn State is back in the headlines. What other schools are leading the headlines in such a negative way?
Who is in charge?

Who recruited LaVon Chisley? Christopher Bell? Those headlines weren't flattering. Please, get a grip. This is not on CJF. Time management? Yes. Play calling? Yes.

You want to debate that stuff? Fine. But your lack of logic is showing through with this line of attack.

You can’t be remotely serious. Paterno built his reputation on exactly the opposite.

You're absoutley correct. Unlike these two athletes, Paterno had plenty of players that were actually charged with and convicted of crimes.

One of Joe''s players is in jail for murder....so if you want to blame the coaches for the kids stupidity at times...you don't get to pick and choose. You see most of us know that wasn't on Joe just like this isn't on JF, but some people just don't like a coach so they make stupid conclusions because they are sour. This BS that Joe's kids were Saints or that Franklin hasn't disciplined kids is a bunch of garbage.

Dude, you lost your argument with the “hard stop” on “are other schools doing this?” The article clearly states that the perpetrator accomplished the same at several other schools. And, according to insiders on the pay board, this was handled by CJF last year with the quiet dismissal of the player.

Ok…then where are the headlines? The specifics?

There is a big difference between a bad apple or two over decades long career vs the actions happening in Penn State’s football locker room. And with the press just licking their chops to take down Penn State, do these kids not have an once of discretion?

Glad to hear the Franklin took action (no access to pay board) - kudos to him.

We’ll see if any other shoes drop. Hope not. This team has a very uphill climb and the less distractions (especially self-created), the better.

Most of Joe’s career was pre social media. About 90% of it and he still was trashed by the media in the end. You’re no better than that media.

I am just asking questions. Or are we rationalizing?

You’ve been ir-rationalizing this whole thread.

Does it make it right?

And post the specifics from other schools when they hit the headlines.
Huh? I honestly have no idea where you’re going with this.
Let me explain what I meant by what I said and maybe it will make more sense. Kids being stupid online is going on at every school, from middle school right on up to medical school. If you have children they may well be doing stupid things online. When they are doing these stupid things they are easy marks to target out of fear of embarrassment for being exposed. It absolutely is not a Penn State specific situation. Not even remotely so.

I agree it is likely going on elsewhere. But to the degree that it did and the circumstances that it did at Penn State? Perhaps? But if so, provide a specific example. “Everyone does it” is not a defense. Especially with what PSU has been tarred with (rightly or wrongly). We must be better and that starts with leadership (players, coaches).

An inconvenient truth. I don't happen to agree there is any basis to go after Franklin, but this point does stand.

Why don't you run for BOT to change it like others here instead of whining like a 2 year old?

Penn State laughs at leadership.

I could provide you all kinds of examples but that would break confidentiality. I don’t know you, you don’t know me but I’m going to just suggest that you trust me on this. It’s happening everywhere. Maybe not the exact same circumstances as this one but similar enough for me to feel confident in saying that it’s happening everywhere.

I concur. I've been retired 14 years in September, and I had taped "issues" to deal with before I left.

Confidentiality of what? This is an anonymous message board. Just cut and paste a headline. Right now the total is one (Penn State).

Spare me. I am just stating the facts. Must bother you to hear the truth - inconvenient though it is…it would not be tolerated in businesses that have actual accountability. It is tolerated only because education has no accountability. Why do you think test scores are plunging? No accountability in education. We have a poster here who is a poster child for this phenomenon.

My work. I’m not sharing personal stories for your edification. Honestly, I think almost everybody knows these types of things are happening all over. I assume you do as well.

Ever hear of Manti Te’o, or the term catfishing? It’s been going on for years.
