Potentially landing 6 of the top 19 players in the country. On pace to be the highest ranked class in 247 history.

How many will be in the portal a year from now?

Hard to gauge how good a class is in this new era until we see people holding them together.

I think we can officially stop wondering about how much $ they’re spending on NIL and recruiting in general. They have gone all in like possibly no one before them

Players rated that high generally produce year 1, so they should get a nice bump next season

If this was 2017, I'd be concerned. But I'm not in 2022, for these reasons:

1) It's still aTm, they are still weird, and they've never gotten it done;
2) I'm very curious if mostly immature 18-22 year olds can handle being motivated by money to play;
3) They'll lose a lot to the portal.

Or....they may become the biggest benefactor of the NIL era. Guess we'll see how it shakes out. I will say that it seems Jimbo has learned that you can't do it with Texas talent alone, and he's went out and got some highly rated out-of-state defensive linemen. Maybe he's got the formula.

Perhaps these guys were always motivated by money alone.

They look like they're on the same path as Clemson to me.
Interesting comparison. On one hand, they are totally different cultures. On the other hand, Clemson most definitely had a reputation for choking too, right up until they didn't.

Them grandsons of the bubblin crude gonna buy themselves a championship.

Out bid Bama, Georgia, LSU and a few Ole Miss hopefuls.

This reminds me of the wild wild Southwest conference when KJS was there. Yeehaw.

Really? I’d be willing to bet the stats on that are less than 40% (probably lower) of them “producing” in a “top performer” role.

Eh.. doesn’t get my dander up. Every championship in football has been won by one of the highest bidders going back to Bear Bryant. That fact is just more public now.

That's probably good enough to get them ranked in the top 10 at some point... only to drop to borderline top 25 by end of the season. ssdd
