Who could read anything behind the line he’s played with his entire career?
I doubt it. If the Giants offered that, he’d sign in a New York minute.the I think SB has already turned down $15 mil per yr for 4 yrs.
He could probably do that tomorrow just lower his asking priceBarkley needs to get out of NY. He’s already done enough damage to his career playing there. He needs to go somewhere with a strong OLine, a good QB, and some receivers…a team that’s a contender so he can prolong his career while getting a shot at a SB even if he has to take less money.
I'm interested in what team(s) those would be?Barkley needs to get out of NY. He’s already done enough damage to his career playing there. An equally intriguing situation is who will be the Jets starting QB next season?
Actually, since it's the Jets, this is more appropriate. An equally intriguing situation is who will be the Jets starting QB next season?
yes he does, his mom, LOLLamar Jackson doesn’t have an agent. I am astounded.
Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins come to mind.I'm interested in what team(s) those would be?
Chiefs won the 2023 SB with late 7th round pick Pacheco who's contract is 4 years for 3.7 million so probably not. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, their 2020 first round RB pick didn't make the roster for the SB. The Bills and Phins should draft RB. Word is the Titans may be looking to trade Henry. Where does he go?Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins come to mind.
I’d absolutely pass on Henry. Too many miles.Chiefs won the 2023 SB with late 7th round pick Pacheco who's contract is 4 years for 3.7 million so probably not. If a team like the Dolphins think they are one player away while Tua's contract is expiring soon and they're not sure if they'd like to re-sign him, I can see that happening. Tua is still cheap and they spent mega bucks on Tyreek.I’d absolutely pass on Henry. Too many miles.
They're going to pay how many dollars and give up two first rounders for Saquon? Don't think so.Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins come to mind.
It's hard to imagine any team willing to pay a big contract for a RB AND giving up two first-round picks. They're going to pay how many dollars and give up two first rounders for Saquon? Don't think so.
Henry. Too many miles.
Daboll better be the genius Joe Schoen thinks he isSweet Baby Jaysus. The Giants continue to screw themselves.
What would be genius would be in about a month take the tag off SB ( I doubt he signs it) and sign Miles Sanders for half the moneyDaboll better be the genius Joe Schoen thinks he is
on Daniel Jones from profootball talk..
That said, it’s basically a three-year, $112.5 million contract, given that the $47.5 million due in 2026 is not guaranteed. That’s an average of $37.5 million.
The Giants also could escape the deal after two years, with $82 million paid and $12 million in 2025 guarantees that would be subject to offset. Still, that’s a worst-case scenario of $94 million over two years for the Giants — and average of $47 million per year.
You’d have been called for delay of game on every play. Some things just aren’t in the cards, for example me being one of the Pips.I should have been a QB. Of course, I could have been, but I chose not to.

I think the fan with an above average IQ knows how this all likely plays out. Jones is a gritty QB but is nowhere near good enough to carry a franchise. And even three years at $47 million per is a bad outcome from this.Daboll better be the genius Joe Schoen thinks he is
OK as an Eagles fan we can only hope, but OTOH what should have the Giants done? Not resigned Jones? Who takes his place? Derek Carr? for crying out loud. Trade 2 first for Lamar? Wait for Carolina to release one on their scrap heap? Drafted Levis? as far as I could tell Jones was their best option, and thats the going tab for a QB. Maybe they could have signed Nick Foles.I think the fan with an above average IQ knows how this all likely plays out. Jones is a gritty QB but is nowhere near good enough to carry a franchise. The Giants continue to fall victim to over valuing their own players and locking them up at premium prices. They are going to trot back essentially the same team that played over their heads last year and it won’t be enough to really contend barring some amazing draft hits.
The cycle likely continues.
Pretty much my own thoughts. Where are you going to go if you let Jones walk?OK as an Eagles fan we can only hope, but OTOH what should have the Giants done? Not resigned Jones? Who takes his place? the only thing you could do I guess, is let Jones walk, and when nobody else wants to pay him starter money, maybe then the Giants could get him on the cheap. OTOH here's a young guy coming off a good season, would Carolina jump on him? Maybe, how about Indy? or even Washington? I think all 3 of those would have an interest, but the key is at what $$$$ level.Pretty much my own thoughts. Where are you going to go if you let Jones walk?
Barkley gets $10.09 M this season. He’ll survive.Giants want to re-sign both Saquon and QB Daniel (Lunkhead) Jones. Cap management strategy was to sing Jones to a long term deal and franchise tag Barkley. Tag deadline is tomorrow.
Fly in the ointment is that Jones wants $45mm. That's Mahomes territory. Causing the Giants to swallow hard.
So what's to be done? They can tag Jones at about $35mm for one year and sign Barkley to a long-term deal at around $15mm p.a. That has some appeal, but long-term deals for RBs haven't had the habit of working out (Exhibit A is one Mr. E Elliott). Given what I think of Jones, which should be apparent by the appellation I've bestowed on him, I'd go with this.
With all due respect, Miles Sanders is not in Saquon’s class. He is a good runner without finishing speed. He is a very mediocre receiver. Most importantly, he is a fumbler. What would be genius would be in about a month take the tag off SB ( I doubt he signs it) and sign Miles Sanders for half the money
But sluggo, I weaken cause. Check his vision at 3 minNot in Saquon's class?
one had 259 carries, for 1269 yds 11 TD 4.9 ypc
other 295 carries for 1312 yds 10 tds 4.4 ypc
the first is Miles the other is SB. You are correct Sanders is a fumbler compared to SB, in 2022 MS had 2 fumbles on runs while SB had 1, twice as many.
so as you can see MS is clearly not in SB class, lol.
the only way SB gets on a better team is to get better players. One way to get better players is with more money. Putting $10 Million in a RB is not the way to get better players, especially if you can get the substainally the same for half to quarter of the money.
