So, to date, Iowa has scored a total of 85 points in the first four games, and average of 21.25 points per game. In order to get to 325, which is the magic number, they will have to average 30 points a game.

Do you think they will do it?

So, in essence one more TD and a FG for every game going forward.

I believe they were willing to include defensive scores for Brian Ferentz, so defensive touchdowns work in his favor.

A lot is being made of the 25 points per game, but I think the only thing tied to it is some measly bonus money. Its not like his contract is tied to it.

Wisconsin and Iowa are the only 2 teams in the West with less than 2 losses. My guess is Wisconsin will ultimately win because at least they were competitive with Washington State. Of course they still have to play OSU which means they'll have to beat Iowa head to head.

If they can ignore the facts of the Sandusky case, I can ignore the facts of Ferentz's contract.

Funny how MSU, UM and OSU escape unscathed.....a testament to John Surma and his posse of scumbags. Oh, well....their mothers wore combat boots!
Makes my blood boil...I think the real difference, that people RELISHED seeing Joe Pa even remotely connected....they hated him for winning with honor. The other programs didn't have similar figureheads as well recognized...nobody near as memorable. So in terms of what is for lack of a better term, a player-hater, MANY existed for Joe, but they had nothing they could stick him with. THIS Sandusky situation was the best thing to happen to these losers. I KNOW they DELIGHTED in the ordeal. Ugh, and then nobody has studied the real stories or lack there of and the extreme nuances of the case. They would rather be ignorant and think the worst so they can feel better about themselves....I'll never get over what they and WE did to Joe...my dream would be for the country to see it my way and place blame appropriately where it's due while knowing the facts.

We should check this. I have read that his continued employment depends on 325.

According to his current contract. However, it was fashioned by the AD who is now retired.
I stand corrected. His contract will not be renewed if Iowa fails to average 25ppg AND win 7 games (bowl included).

I should know better than to trust the Iowa board....can't even get facts about their own team straight.

I’m not yet convinced that it’s 325 or else the door. What you just wrote seems to be the case but there’s something I can’t put my finger on that makes me uncertain.

Maybe, but that would mean something on the Iowa board was correct.

You're usually right.
They're usually wrong.

I hope this doesn't cause some sort of rift in the space time continuum.

this is true but really don't we want him to be able to reach those magic numbers? I do. I'd hate to see him or his father leave.

Absolutely.

On the other hand, I would expect an announcement that brian suddenly landed another job rather than he’s been fired by iowa (dad). Of course, the new job would be a step down.

Please explain what’s a step down from coaching offense at Iowa? Coaching fire ant arm wrestlers in Mongolia!

I was in Des Moines, for PSU in the hoops tourney, watching the wrestling on TV at a bar. When Spencer Lee got pinned the place was dead silent. Except for us Penn Staters smirking, there were a lot of stunned faces.

Didn’t he drop out of the tournament after that? Classy.
