Why? He is a west coast guy with no ties to the south. All of his coaching experience is in Washington except for a stint at Boise and 5-yrs in the NFL. Also looking at his track record - he jumps jobs a lot or gets pushed…

Cause he consistently stopped Mike Leach as UW DC against WashSt

Lake has been an assistant or DC with UW since 2014. WashSt has scored 17, 13, 10, 17, 14, 15, and 13 in that time frame.

I doubt any SEC team is making their DC hire based on stopping just one particular offense in the league that nobody else runs. This whole “Washington had the secret sauce” thing is way overblown anyway. They had the secret sauce against WSU like Bama has had it against us the past two years. They had a lot more talent.

Well Moorhead definitely won’t be punching any of his players on the sideline. The players might punch each each other, however.
